Can't find this episode in the original series

I remember seeing an episode where there was a video screen where the operator could see an opponent and kill them at will. I think it was some sort of a leader/tyrant who used it to prevent others from taking his place.

Can someone tell me which episode that was?

Sounds like The Tantalus Effect in "Mirror, Mirror."

"Mirror, Mirror" - Star Trek, season 2.

The Tantalus Device.

EDIT: Ninja'd by seconds by Greg Cox! :scream:

We older folks had only 79 episodes to memorize until TMP came along. We watched every rerun for ten years straight.

It wasn't until the TV spin-off era that there was any bit of Star Trek I didn't have memorized. Now of course there are hundreds of hours that I saw only once or twice, years ago.

Spent years wanting new Star Trek, now that there are hundreds of hours of it, I find myself watching the original 79 episodes, six films and the two Abrams films far more than anything else.

I can't remember the last time I gave more than a passing glance to any of the spinoffs.

Ohh, age bracket. Hit the nail on the head there. I'm glad I'm not the only one. With each successive series, I've rewatched it less and less. This makes sense. I rewatched TOS last year. I'm ready to start TNG. Just trying to find 2 hours to watch the pilot (yes, I know, less than 2 hours...)

Of course, I'm watching blocks of Tyrant, Dark Matter, Killjoys... so I can find the time if I try.

Hey, does anybody else notice that Mirror Mirror somehow sounds suspiciously like Louie Louie?

Curiouser and curiouser.

There's something we'd like to see, the original cast doing Louie Louie.

Bonus points to the first person to write lyrics to "Louie, Louie" describing "Mirror, Mirror".

"A bearded Spock, he waits for me.............."
