Re: CANCELLED - WHAT??????????????

Just a quick reminder to keep it civil in here:

Thread of relevance

I gotta say, while I'm not surprised (it did seem it was headed this way), I am very disappointed. The show has been quite good lately, and I think it's ashame it didn't get another season.

But we did get season 4, and last time this year we weren't sure about that. I for one am very happy that we got this season.

This is it! Star Trek is now officially a dead franchise. It will only live on in books, reruns and on the Internet. There's not going to be a new series or a movie in the foreseeable future.

Thanks a lot, Moonves ! What a great 40th anniversry it'll be  with no new Trek on the air!

WHAT??????? THEY DIDN'T EVEN WAIT FOR THE FEBRUARY SWEEPS TO AIR!!!!!!!

yes it sucks. But it gives the writers time to create a nice conclusion without having to go back and re-writing part of it.

This is the real deal guys, I blame UPN alot for this, how do they expect the show to do good when you put it in a closet (fridays) and don't adversise it! FUCK UPN!!! the can burn in HELL!! I will never watch another show on that network!! I hope they collapes very soon!!

Wowsers, I thought UPN would wait at least until spring to decide on this. It's no secret from those who know me that I was not a fan of ENT despite the fact that I would watch every now and then to see if my mind feelings would change. Since 1987 I have been able to turn on the TV on a consistent basis and catch a new episode from a series set in the Trek universe, and now this has ended. Well, good effort, fellas, sorry the show never clicked with me.
:(

Bloody hell. :(

Thanks to the cast, crew, and this season's writers who fought to bring the show into its own, and I feel were succeeding.

Fuck off UPN.

Emphatically

Worfmonger

"Enterprise," in my opinion, was the only thing UPN had going for it. Being a black male, I hardly find those shows geared towards a "black audience" on UPN all that entertaining or great. I don't know what direction UPN wants to take towards programing but it's been in the game for a long time now ... if the station hasn't found a big hit yet and can't even beat CBS, NBC and ABC in a single night of programing, what makes them think that eliminating a show like "Enterprise" that comes with a fanbase is all that wise? There's already a station geared towards African-Americans, it's called BET. There's one for women, called Lifetime. Some for men, called SpikeTV and ESPN. The only audiences not tapped into are the gay community and teenagers (though teens do have MTV). The way ratings are taken, I think many folks are left unaccounted for. 'Enterprise' has more fans and a following than the flawed ratings system has to show for. UPN I suppose will fall back on Smackdown and America's Next Top Model

This was pretty much inevitable, with the ratings now what they are.

Having said that, we've had four mostly good seasons out of it, which is more than many shows can claim, and from the looks of the spoilers we're gonna be going out on a creative high. Four seasons is a respectable enough run for any series, and with those 98 episodes for syndication we can rest assured that Enterprise will never go down as a financial failure to anyone involved.

Plus, Enterprise created a loyal, if small fan base in it's lifetime, and that is something most shows (even highly rated ones) can't always claim. My hat goes off to places like SaveEnterprise.com and Enterprise Project for all of their efforts, which I have no doubt helped get us this far. Plus, at least this way we can enjoy the new episodes without constantly thinking "Ooh, how many people are watching this?" and going berserk whenever the ratings come in. Finally, we can fully enjoy ENT as it should be enjoyed - as a weekly TV show.

To "Star Trek: Enterprise" *Raises Glass*. :)

So now, we have all become terminaly ill Enterprise fans with only 4 months left to live, Let enjoy the remaining episodes then.

I'll probably buy ENT S4 on DVD, after a while, once the price has gone down to a reasonable level. Since I don't get UPN, I don't have the option of boycotting it (I also don't get to watch Veronica Mars), so I'll just say UPN sucks.

Hopefully, the writers can create a good finale for the show. Now the cancellation is confirmed, one might consider all bets off.

A sad day, I really enjoyed the show. I feel very sorry for its cast and crew and all of the fans who fought so hard to keep it on the air.

Oh well just left a message for UPN about the mistake, altough at the end of the day no one can blame them, crap ratings, dying network, it's paramount that could have kept it alive but chose not to, screw you I'll not be buying your overpriced ENTERPRISE DVD's now, I call on other fans to do the same...

Oh well that's the anger out, sorry to see you go ENTERPRISE :(
