This is it! Star Trek is now officially a dead franchise. It will only live on in books, reruns and on the Internet. There's not going to be a new series or a movie in the foreseeable future.

This era of Trek, after Enterprise has ended, will probably be looked back upon when the new Trek airs as the "Canon Wars." Because now there is nothing on TV/Film to state as Canon, let the speculation wars begin.

I would like to add to the negativity, but instead I'm going to go out on a limb and see the good in the decision.

Hmmm..................
<cough>

Warning for flaming.

Borg, give us a minute. This thread is moving faster than anyone can keep up with.

EDIT: Despite the double post, only one warning was entered.

Crap!!!!!!!!!!
my day just got worse.

Thanks for the entire Enterprise staff for their hard working entertaining us week after week. :( :( :(

Well this is somewhat sad, I have to say, I was quite hopeful of a 5th, 6th, and 7th, season.

But at least we have the last episodes to look forward too, enterprise will meet the original rumors I head about it, including explaining klingon foreheads ;) and the forming of the BoTF. And will hopefully go out in grand style with an epic finale to finish it all off.

And thats not to say that everything is lost after that. There will still possibly be trek movies/mini-series (perhaps set in ENT era for all we know) and trek as a TV series will get the break it probably needed since voyager.

I think I've already accepted the fact that enterprise might have been cancelled, and I'll go on and enjoy the last run of episodes. It still got more than TOS ;).

The big question on my mind is "whats next?" I will assume they are gonna give trek a decent sized break (at least a year or two) but what about movies/TV-mini series? What is going to happen with trek in general now that enterprise is going off the air?

Is there still no chance of them selling it to another network like Scifi or Spike, or first run syndication? Just coz UPN cancelled it (dunno why it ever had it if it never wanted it in the first place) surely doesnt mean someone else wouldnt want it?

<clutches at straws in desparation>

I was 10 when voyager started. This is the only series I have been able to follow right from the start, and I'm really annoyed that its been cancelled now that its fulfulling its promise. Its Sky One's number one rated show when it is firstrun, outperforming Simpsons 24 and Angel (last year). Surely they might come to its aid like Battlestar, not let it disappear like Angel...

Sorry you lost the show guys, I was starting to get interested in it again too.

**hugs to those who need it**

I don't think this is the end of trek though.

Two warnings for one post! :lol:

Having seen promising shows like Firefly killed after only 13 episodes, a run of 100 episodes is something to be celebrated, not to be sad about. The real tragedy here is that the show had really started to show some real improvements this season and I would have liked a 5th season to see where it could go.

As a long term Doctor Who fan I'm certain that this isn't the end of Star Trek. Doctor Who left the air after TPTB ran it into the ground and the BBC controller (who always hated the show) finally had an excuse to cancel it. This is a very similar situation, I would say in 6 years or so time we'll see a new Star Trek, much like how Doctor Who is coming back. :)

Its a sad day. I keep hoping its some kind of joke. Star Trek has been running my entire life, and now new episodes won't air.

At least there will be this season and syndication for re-runs. Its a shame there won't be anything special done for the upcomming 50th Aniversery.

Star Trek will always exist in my memories.

This is so sad. This series made me excited about Trek again and now there will be no Trek to speak of, perhaps permanently.

Well I'm ready to write my letters of disappontment to UPN and Paramount.

My thanks go out to the staff of the series for doing such a great job under such annoying circumstances.
