Bullshit. I did not cross the line. I did not *gloat*. The first post asked a question and I answered with my opinion. That is SO not warn-worthy. The second part you quote is also not trolling. Yellow Rose was being a drama queen/king, and I asked a question. A question is not trolling. The warning has no merit and should be removed. Thank you.

I think the mods are having too much trouble in their hands right now to add that line, so I'll say it: "Comments to Moderator Actions". Thank you :)

This royally sucks folks. *sighs* Oh well, nothing lasts forever. But, I think i'll write one letter to tptb.

NOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!

It is a sad day today. No reason to watch UPN anymore, other than the reruns of FOX shows that I like, oh and there is Kevin Hill.

Damn UPN and Paramount! :mad: :mad: :mad:

Well since every member of the BBS(ever) seems to be chimming in I may as well also.

It’s a sad day. I don’t even know if there is any hope that it can be picked up somewhere else and salvaged. Since it was a joint statement w/Paramount I don’t know if that means all hope is gone or w/ST being such a big part of Paramount there was a perceived need for them to just be there during the announcement.

I don’t have Sci-Fi, I don’t have Spike cause I don’t have cable. However, if one of them picked it up I would invest in cable.

I will have my DVD’s at least.

You know gang we basically had 30 Seasons of Trek in nearly 40 years, not bad.

TOS=3
TNG=7
DS9=7
VOY=7
ENT=4
TAS=2(albeit short seasons, nonetheless)

Not to mention 10movies, 2Documentaries and countless novels. One day our time will rise again.

this is merely anger so i dont want to draw a warning

les mooneves died feb 3 2005

That is completely uncalled for! At the end of the day it is just a TV show!

Honestly, this should not come as a surprise. We've had Trek on our screens weekly since the late 80's. It is time for a rest. I am happy the show is going out on a high. If they choose to do another Trek, then it should be after several years at rest.

I honestly do not believe that, with shows of the quality as the new BSG and that the new Doctor Who promises to be, and hopefully will be when it comes to the shores of the US, Enterprise can compete. They need to reinvent the franchise, but they need time for a generation that does not know Trek as well to rise up; one for which a new Trek will be as fresh as those past were when they came to our screens.

I remember my college years. I lived on a campus the first two years where all we ate, unless we went off campus, was cafeteria food. Keep in mind, this was a small college town in NC, and we were fed real fried chicken and they would even grill our steaks to order once every two weeks at dinner. We hated it.

Then, we got our own apartment. You know, it took a month or two, but after awhile, it was hard living on our own, studying all day, writing papers all night and having to shop and cook for ourselves. That cafeteria food became very tasty again, and we started going back.

Trek has become cafeteria food. It's still tasty, but my taste buds are a bit tired. I'm actually okay with cooking for myself for a change. I'm glad the cafeteria has closed. I do hope, however, its temporary. Cooking for myself gets old too.

One note regarding the recent low ratings...What do they expect when their affiliates like the one where I live actually refuse to show ENT on Fridays at all. Instead, they show it on Saturdays. Therefore, of course the ratings have continued to be low. I know my own affiliate can't be the only one doing this.

Oh well,
All Good Things...

Seconded. :) And, OS, it's not your place to call someone a 'drama queen/king.' I'm tempted to warn you again.

Take it to MA if you want. But stop making things worse in here.

I agree with Commodore Equinox. Boycott UPN. Of course that isn't hard for me to do...I don't like any of the other shows they put on. I haven't felt this lost since they cancelled TOS. :eek: :scream: :eek: :scream: :eek: :scream: :confused:

Considering this season has easily been the best, I didn't think they would cancel it. I thought they were thinking that a show that's good is worth keeping, because sometime in the future someone will realise this, and it will become popular. I really didn't think they would cancel it. I really didn't.

I'm so sad right now. I'll wear black clothes to school tomorrow. This show represented a hope for Earth, and for television as we know it, and it's gone.

Well, it's not April...

:(

Oh well.

As great as this season has been it was, indeed, too little too late. The crap given us by the Beebs for the last 3 seasons was enough to drive away viewers, and it just wouldn't be possible for things to improve enough this season no matter how good the episodes are (all of which have been good this season.)

This is real sad news, I do hope that fan-support is able to somehow save the show and bring it back in some form, like First-Run Syndication, but I doubt it.

Four years is a pretty good run, I suppose. I'll certainly pick up the DVDs when they come out later this year.

I don't see this as being a good move by UPN, considering they now have no flagship show? I mean do they have ANYTHING else on there that draws in viewers? :confused:

I do hope Cotto, Sussman and the others responsible for the stories we've had this season are approached for possibly developing Series VI.

This is terrible, but probably needed. Trek has been on the air consistantly since 1987, which is a long time and has probably over saturated us with it. Givingit a break is probably a good thing.

I don't see Trek as dead, I see it as resting. It will be back, and will be back bigger and better.

Well, IMHO, the franchise is very valuable and won't be left fallow for too terribly long this time.

I read this action from Moonves as someone who has seen slipping ratings, a bad return on the last movie and genral loss of franchise equity.

I think we'll see things go dark for a bit and then various rumours will start in 6 to 9 months about a new project.

Personally I'm in the same camp with a bunhc of other posters. I had stopped watching thsi show late season 1 and didn't come back until mid season 3 till now.

Wow, I'm not even a fan of the show - haven't watched it in ages.... Still, I'm really sad to hear it's been axed. Like so many others, Star Trek has been continually on the air for a rather large chunk of my life. It'll seem strange to think it's not on the air anymore.

Oh well, at least I have my Star Trek DVDs to keep me company.

I do not think Star Trek is dead. Not by a long shot. If you doubt me look at the expanded universe that has come from Star Wars. There has been work done in that arena by the way of books, fan fiction and video games that is superior to even the movies (look no further than the Knights of the Old Republic RPG's if you need proof).

Enterprise had gotten better, was actually quite good this year and it would have been nice were it renewed but as a whole it was not on par with its siblings. Potential wasted.

I agree that Trek needs sometime off the air and off the movie screens. But it can come back again and when it does hopefully it will be with fresh ideas and a new perspective.

Star Trek maybe a lot of things but it is anything but dead.

People people.....Optimism! :)

There is still Stargate SG-1 and Atlantis.

And lets not forget that Battlestar Galactica is rocking the free world.

There is still plenty of excellent sci-fi on TV (even Smallville if that's your sort of thing).

:lol: jez man...... that's the last thing they want to hear.

People are whining about what a bad network decision it was to cancel it, but at this point with these ratings, it's a far worse decision to keep it around another year. The ratings are just going further and further down.
That's another thing I've been thinking about. For more than a decade, the ratings on Trek in general have been declining continuously, and almost nobody would argue that the quality of the product has been likewise declining. Whatever you think of Enterprise, it seems unlikely that the recent slight improvement in the show's quality would have reversed the downward trend. The writing's been on the wall for a while now: Trek as it stands today isn't popular enough. It stinks, but there it is.

I'm not sure why everyone's pissed at UPN. They did their best to keep this show on. Moving it to Friday was a great choice for getting a fourth season, which has been better than the rest.

The show never recovered from the first two and a half seasons of lackluster episodes. People stopped watching. Now that it's good, people aren't watching. It's the same process with all TV series. Enterprise has probably gotten more breaks from a network than any other series ....

I'm afraid nobody's listening. I said much the same thing, albeit less diplomatically, and it didn't even slow the kneejerk UPN bashing. :p

Well, here is one ENT fan that agrees with you both. I'm thankful that UPN kept it as long as they did. I don't think I would have done the same if I was running a network with the kind of ratings it has been getting since the second half of S2. I thank UPN for being tolerant enough to keep it around long enough for it to have a good run.

Also, it is strongly because of the pressure put on TPTB from the UPN people that gave us the creative upheavals we saw in seasons three and four. In lots of ways, I'd rather have those two seasons of great ST than four or five seasons of okay (at best) ST.
