Can you watch porn on an airplane?

You become a member of the wrong club if you do it in the airPORT bathroom.

As for porn on a plane, it's the sort fo thing that should not require a law. Common decency should suffice.
Thing is not everyone defines "common decency" the same way. Hence the need for most laws.

Ok, you know how people watch movies and TV shows while flying now, well, can you watch porn?

I mean, if you legally purchase porn, and are old enough to watch it, and you sit there watching it on the plane on your laptop or phone, do they have any ground to stand on to stop you?

I guess the flight attendants could tell you to please turn that off, but is there any legality to that, or could you legally watch it and say to them that you aren't doing anything illegal?

Just wondering

I think it works like chewing gum in class: only if you bring enough for everyone.

Who the hell would want to have sex in an airplane bathroom? There's hardly enough room for ONE person to go in there (if I have to take a whiz, I seriously consider waiting till the plane lands). Two people crowding in there at once would be unbearable. :wtf:

Well.. the action involved does involve some spatial overlap... LOL

I've, umm, heard, that it involves some manipulation of the space-time continuum, in that two bodies are occupying the same space at the same time...

Given there have been complaints about people watching porn on incar entertainment systems in their own vechicles while stuck in traffic I'm sure watching on a plane would get complaints (unless the people next to you are jealous.

It's their plane, they can make you do whatever they want as long as it doesn't violate some other law.

And I know of no law that promises porn-access at all times without restriction.

But is there any law that would cause that to be illegal?

Public indecency, probably. Unless you have a private room or something on the plane, you would be exposing other people (potentially minors) to something they probably don't want to be exposed to.
And if you really piss them off, they'll use in the same sentence terms like "terrorism" and "national security" and you'll be royally FUBARed.

What he said. I've heard of instances were the hosties have told people to put away adult magazines, so I'll assume they'll do the same with movies.

There would be no way you'd get away with it in economic, unless you had an empty row. First class on the other hand in the larger aircraft you have move privacy so it would be easier to watch porn without getting caught.

Well Singapore Airlines did put notices about no sex in the first class cubicles on their A380s.

Delta kicked a woman off the plane for breast-feeding. The plane had not yet left the terminal. She was in the last row, had a window seat, and her husband was between her and the aisle, yet she was kicked off. Excuse me, but humans are mammals!

Anyway, if they can do that, they can certainly find a way to stop a passenger who is so rude that he would watch porn on his laptop in a public place. If you're writing a story about a dillweed who would do this, I hope he bashes his shin at least twice before the end of the story.

Not since 9/11 and everyone got so uptight.

Thanks a lot Bin laden!

;)

I suspect that you cannot, freedoms aside there's still decency laws and public display of porn would violate many -if not all- of those. Further the airline, as public entity, has the right to control what occurs on their property (the plane.)

All that said, there's ways it can be done. Privacy software can be purchased for computers that codes the screen in a manner that it can only be "decoded" by wearing special glasses.

I can't find the clip on Youtube, but this topic reminds me of that part in Mallrats, where Brody is talking about his cousin Walter's experience on a crashing aeroplane, when everyone on board whips it out and start jacking off
