Can you remove windows live.

Windows live messenger stopped working for me today so i decided to uninstall it and then reinstall it.
But every time i try to install windows live it keeps saying that live messenger is still on my computer yet i can not find it any where.
I have looked in the temp files i have gone to add and remove programs and removed everything i could find there and have also done a search but now i can not think of anything else to do.
Is there a trick i am missing or will i just have to live with out messenger

It may mean that you already have the installer on your computer, rather than WLM itself. Windows normally downloads the installer when you want to install.

The installer should be here:
C:\Program Files\Common Files\WindowsLiveInstaller\MsiSources

I've been having an issue with Messenger lately too. It crashes, but not really, and I have to manually kill the process in task manager before relaunching it. Same thing happens with VLC on occasion. I'd dig into it, but I think I'll just install the Windows 7 RC instead.

Thanks in the end i had to type msiexec /x {0AAA9C97-74D4-47CE-B089-0B147EF3553C}
But now i have finally installed it messenger is temporally unavailable
