Can you find your home on Google Earth?

How old are the photographs on google earth? I found my home and was able do the zoom down the street thing, but it still shows a tree in front of my house that was cut down 6 months ago.

I think most images are just cobbled together. Some are a few months old, some are about 5 or 6 years old. Most are probably between a year and two years old.

I can see my house, my university office and my car in my boyfriend's yard! :p

I can but I won't show you exactly ;)

I'm going to IGR in Villejuif at the end of April for work. Nice to know where it's located (though calling it "Paris" seems to be a bit of a stretch!)

Anyway, my home is on this map, and I know perfectly where.

My parents started building their house about four years ago. But on Google Earth, there is nothing there, just a grassy parcel. According to the historical feature, it was taken in September of 2003

And here's where I used to work (the complex takes up the entire picture). Anyone who can guess what this might be wins a virtual cookie.

I got bored and so I looked it up. It's on the corner of St. Laurent and Belfast. According to Wikipedia, it's OC Transpo's headquarters. Am I right?

Thankfully you said it was for work. Going to Gustave Roussy is not good when it's not for work (it an hospital specialised in cancer).

Paris is very small. The close suburb (Villejuif and my home are close suburb) are part of the urban area of Paris. We call ourselves Parisian when we speak to strangers ;)

Edit : ok, because of you I'm listening to Vesoul (Anvers is in the lyrics) over and over again, thank you...

Why, yes I can!

I live right here, in the middle of the Earth:

My second avatar here, and not actually Google but Encarta, remember that?

Here's my hometown:

Here's my street:

My parents also live within the bounds of this shot.

And here's my street view:

I live right across from the oldest christian church in town and almost next to the most (in)famous all-night boozer in town (open from midnight till noon).

Indeed. I'm going to IGR for a congress on melanoma... Not the funniest topic, but the people are nice. :)
I'm glad it's close to the centre, I've been wanting to visit Paris again, it's been a while.

Is that a good thing or not?

(I'll listen to Il est cinq heures, Paris s'éveille ;))

For the past six months I've lived in the Castle of Breda:

Currently I'm living in a small town near Nijmegen (until my broken ankle is better):

Not going any closer, but suffice it to say, my car is in Google Street View at least twice and you can see that there are piles of bricks on the roof in the actual Google Earth view...

I like that you Ravens Stadium is a big blotch of purple as well... :techman:

The photo of my house shows the house with its old roof. The Housing Department replaced the roof before I moved in and i have lived here almost 2 years.

Google Earth has updated the maps for home since the last time I used it. Not only is the completed bypass finally on the map, but it also managed to include my car - parked miles away from where my house is supposed to be...

Here's my street in street view. It's been updated since the last time I looked at it. there's some random dude walking past my house in this one...

Also, it looks like there's plenty of parking, so this must have been a holiday weekend or something.
