camelot vs merlin

I quit during the second episode too. I made it about 20 minutes in, but Arthur risking his life to get a damn sword for absolutely no reason was too much stupidity for me. I'm also sick of Merlin being a drug dealer. I think I'll stick with the far superior BBC version.

camelot is just starting with a new and different direction . it's only two episodes in . and you're complaining about the nudity . I wish there was nudity in merlin come on .
anyone have any idea how long camelot will be ?

I am sticking with this show for awhile longer. I just wished I hbo so I could watch a game of thrones as well argh.

I love high fanatsy so I am watching . now did'nt poul anderson have a arthurian series as well ?

I can't determine which of these shows I like less.

Camelot is ruined by atrocious casting of the main characters, while Merlin is too family friendly (read: silly) for my likes.

 You do sum it up pretty well.

I wish the tone was a bit different in Camelot, it should be grittier with the stripped down approach they've taken. Both series seem to be channeling 90's syndicated adventure shows.

I did appreciate Eva Green's tits though.

Gwen form Camelot is super hot, but she looks like a 21st century model, not a 15th century lady. Incorrect casting has plagues this show.
So there's no way a "15th Century lady" can look like this?

Has humanity evolved so much since then?

BTW, Camelot takes place in the 5th Century.
I would think diet, hygiene, and cosmetics make a great difference. I haven't seen Camelot, but sometimes actors don't seem to be right for a period. The body language can be wrong for the social cast they are meant to portray, or their appearance can just not fit. For instance, Gweneth Paltrow didn't feel like a '30s serial character in Sky Captai, but Jolie and especially Giovani Ribisi felt very much like they belonged in that imagined world.

it's soppossed to 5th century no 15th . and just look at roman woman back during the day a lot of them were hotties.

I am loving this new series. I realy like the lady n' the lake episode. fantastic. this show will get better in time.

I tried watching the third episode but really lost interest. I think after the series is done its 10 episodes and can be watched all at once I might try again, but as of right now it is not something that holds my interest from week to week. As opposed to Merlin, even though it is kiddie and has its faults, I like the players and I am excited to see it. Games of Thrones I may not watch right away either, wait to catch up on some of their umpteenth airings.

With Camelot I find that I like everything with Merlin and Morgan but don't really care for the rest. The Lady of the Lake scene was chilling *sorry*, but it was a really awesome scene and puts to rest some arguments of whether or not Merlin actually has powers.

I haven't had an opportunity to see Camelot yet, but it's going to have to go a long way to match the likability of Merlin and its cast, who truly seem to be having a blast. And much as I like Eva Green she doesn't hold a candle to Katie McGrath, IMO! ;)

I'm actually surprised more hasn't been made of the rivalry (such as there is) between these two very different adaptations of the King Arthur legend, considering how popular Merlin is over in the UK. Mind you, they're aimed at completely different audiences - I sort of see Merlin as Doctor Who to Camelot's Torchwood.

I think the women on Camelot seem better, or are at least handled with more conviction then the uneven writing for the girls on Merlin. But Camelot's Merlin and Arthur really stink for me. I kept wanting to change the channel or fast forward through their scenes, and then I thought, Oh wait, they are what this show is about, aren't they? Click. :) All the support in Camelot is better.

what was with morgana drinking arthur's blood? episode guinevere

also merlin just big fat liar. also he's such a phoeny.

So, wait a minute... This show second biggest protagonist murders a blacksmith and then also his daughter just to get a sword. The main protagonist is constantly trying to sleep with his champion's wife.

Why are we supposed to like these guys again?

I don't like them, and I've pretty much quit watching it.

I did'nt understand why merlin killed the blacksmith and his daughter that was weird part. as for arthur he has the hots for guiniever and he did try to stop the marriage.
this show is diffenetly different from merlin on scy fy I am going to stay with it.

I'm staying with it, but "Lady of the Lake" seemed like it was dark for the sake of being dark.

I think what it was trying to show, was that magic usage take a toll on anyone, even Merlin. Maybe magic is always a dark force in this universe or something?

well at least we are seeing magic being used. now with the nun showing up well see more of early christianity in this as well.

He wasnt trying to kill the, its just that magic can be uncontrollable and can lead to unforeseen events.

Camelot's Arthur was a huge miscast imho. I stopped watching after the premiere because this guy was just so meh. Why him!? Of all the people they could cast.

because the guy who plays arthur on merlin is busy on merlin. and remmber he's a boy king. come on .
