Thank you for the compliment! Spock was my first love... Then it was Michael Jackson... (Work that out! I am one sick puppy...)
Well, they're both aliens ;)!

Sorry for yet another off topic comment :D!

Yup -- Spock, Adam West, Lee Majors ... first crushes.

Aww, see there's many commonalities between us. Does it matter if we like A/T'P vs. T/T'P best?

Since this is a shipper thread -- I'll ask this of my fellow Spock fans. Would you rather see ...
1) Spock with Saavik
2) Spock with Nurse Chapel
3) Spock with T'Pring (after she dumped Ston)
4) Spock with the Romulan Commander from Enterprise Incident
5) Spock + [insert other here]

I'm more a 1 (Kirstie Alley) or 4 girl. T'Pring blew it. Nurse Chapel was better off with Roger from "What Little Girls are Made of."

Well, I would prefer Spock + (insert other here...T'Fenix, specifically :p).

But, in that case, Spock + Saavik, all the way! T'Pring did blow it. Nurse Chapel was a silly little blonde, and I don't remember the Romulan Commander from Enterprise Incident.

I loved Saavik. She's almost as cool as T'Pol.

I never liked Chapel with Spock... didn't get it... I think Kirstie Alley is one of the most beautiful women in the Universe but I was not crazy about the Saavik thing with him either...

I like the way he and T'Pring looked together but let's face it... she was a bitch... If she wasn't I would vote for her...

So I guess it is #4 for me... I even wrote a character at the age of 7 that married Spock and I wrote stories and drew pictures about them until I was in college (yep... I'm a nerd...)

No one ever seemed to live up to him in my eyes. He seemed to need someone that was intelligent and yet emotionally fulfilling, without becoming intrusive, as well.

Spock was such a complex character but the joy would be figuring out the puzzle that he is without ever making him feel threatened... I don't think that any human could truly understand him so I came up with another race that was a different offshoot of Vulcans...... Warlike (like Romulans) but still embracing the desire of peace... A mixture of the Vulcans that left the planet and the native people on the planet that they inhabitted... I think that he could understand that and do well with someone that posessed such extremes...

Strange though... The character did look a bit like me... Wonder how that happened...

Not at all. This has been my view from the beginning.

As for the 'shipper question:
1) Spock with Saavik for me too. :D

That is such a cute story! I love it! I was also writing Star Trek stories when I was a kid around 7. (Being 34 now, I'm sure this means I'm older than you.)

In fact, I was so nerdy, I would read the Blish teleplays to see if I missed anything in the shows.

I always liked the idea of Spock with a Romulan. And I liked the fanon (ST comic book) idea that Saavik was half-Romulan/half-Vulcan. Awww.

Ulva, yeah -- you're very nice. You've always been the epitome of goodness. I appreciate your hospitality.

'Shipping and Spock? Nah!

I never ever favoured Spock with anyone. But then again I was a kid when I got hooked on Star Trek and would probably just think eeeeewww!

Saavik, as pretty as she was (I mean the young Kirstie Alley here), was more of a daughter/apprentice to Spock so big eeeewww-factor for me there. Chapel was indeed a "dumb blonde". I never really cared for Gene's girlfriend/wife-to-be on Trek. T'Pring was a bitch (albeit a beautiful one). The Romulan Commander thing was just an act of clever deception.

I'm really not a 'shipper at heart when it come to Trek. It only just started when I began rooting for Paris and Torres on VOY but that 'ship got boring. It's only with TnT that 'shipiness really has entered my Trek vocabulary.

Scary thing is that I am older than you!

Only by a year though! However most people think that I am younger because I refuse to grow up! Hell I still go to rock concerts and I love to go out dancing when I get the chance!!! I always have someone say, "There is no way that you are 35!!! I thought you were like 25!"

At that point I drop to my knees, start kissing their feet, and begin worshipping them until they shake me off... :D

 I always get that response too... Well, I'm 33... Funny how close we are in age... I know Kevin's and kitkat's ages and I'll leave it up to them to tell but I can say this... They are close too...

BTW, thank you commodore64. I try my best always. I'd like to be friends with people. We may think differently when it comes to certain things but that doesn't mean we have to become enemies. I truly belive in the statement 'agree to disagree'. :D

 Tell us about T'Fenix ;)

I would go with Saavik myself..no real reason just thought they looked cute together.

I'm such a girl sometimes :o :p

Thank you so much for "outing" me, Ulva  ;)!

I didn't specify! I just said we were close... You're in good company here Kevin! :D

^ Oh, I don't really mind! And I know I'm in very good company. It's just that sometimes I feel a bit juvenile drooling over Polly and generally acting like a Trek geek! I guess that never goes away no matter how old you get .

Juvenile? Have you read my posts over at the Tripped thread? Me think we are quite alike... :p

^ Yes, I've read them !

This juvenile bit is quite funny because my friends jokingly say that I was never really a "youth" but instead went from childhood to adulthood without passing adolescence (well obviously not in the physical sense). I guess that accounts for my occasional juvenile behaviour here !

Edit to add that we probably should keep this thread on topic from now on!

Kevin, you're amongst friends here! I think we're all Trek geeks -- every single person on this board.

LL and all, I had no idea you were about my own age and started Trekking about the same age. How funny!!!

:o If you've been in the Commodore's Lounge you know about "T'Fenix." That's all I'll say about that.

Must be nice!

When I was 16, it was pretty easy for me to slip into underage movies without being carded because people mistook me for someone in my twenties. I also stopped growing in 6th grade and was quite tall compared to the other kids my age (I'm 5'7") until sophomore year in high school. Looking older is all well and good until you hit 18, but after that...you kinda want some reassurance, right? So I was excited when I turned 21 because people would actually be forced to ask for my ID when I bought alcoholic beverages (because there was no way...or so I thought!...that I looked older than 25), but it's never happened.

I guess I should take it as a compliment, but at this rate I'll look like I'm 40 by 28!

I never thought about that... I think you look quite young though. You're in your early 20s right?

Well, if we're gonna talk about age, I'll spit mine out. I'm 31. I still get carded all the time, too. I think it's cool to find out that a lot of us are really close in age.

And, yes we can all at a little juvenile in our respective drool threads that we post in!! I admit, I am one of the gutter queens!!! However, I like to call it.....art appreciation. :D
