Call Me Crazy...

... but I wouldn't mind a Colonel Carter of the George Hammond series. I don't know why but something about the concept of one just has me curious. I think it's because it would be something that we hadn't really seen before (yes I know she was on Atlantis as the CO for a season).

What I mean is that we haven't, on a space sci-fi series, seen one of the leads from one series go on to lead another from the beginning (the closest I can think of is Chief O'Brien on DS9). I just think it'd be interesting.

Sorry, rambling.

It would be interesting, but I really got this strong "I'm not all that excited to be here" vibe from Amanda Tapping.

Sooner or later, she'll figure out what RDA has figured out: they'll pay her big bucks to trot her out for a handful of scenes.

I've always wondered why they haven't built a ship yet with the mission to go explore space, where there aren't Stargates.

The idea isn't horrible, but it's not good.

You can tell the last few Stargate projects Amanda Tapping has done that she is just phoning it in like RDA.

Plus Stargate became crap as soon as the ships came into play.

Well Amanda has her own TV series to work on, Sanctuary. So I do not expect any of the classic cast to be more than guest stars anymore (with the exception of further DVD films).

and rightly so, this was a problem with Atlantis, they need to give the show room to stand on its own, without SG-1/Atlantis cast holding it up

I think the Carter character has played itself out over the last 12 years, what more can she really do without getting into cliche? Her appearance on SGU could have been easily done by Caldwell, that guy on the Apollo, Lorne, or just some random person.

Actually, while we're talking about the Hammond, I noticed Major Marks was serving on the bridge. What the hell? Does this guy show up on every Earth starship? He started off on the Prometheus, when it got blown up he transferred to the Odyssey. Then in Atlantis's fourth season he was seen on the Apollo once, then got transferred to the Daedalus in the fifth season, where he was there the whole year. And now he's on the Hammond. Guy sure does seem to get around.

Maybe he'd become the XO of the Hammond?
