But will it be a timehead?

I like the Web Planet - it has Barbara planning war strategy for a bunch of giant butterflies, what more would you want!

There are a lot worse Who stories out there.

I don't *hate* it but I recognise that it should never have been commissioned as it's too ambitious for the technology of the time

Re: Oh god, it's the Web Planet next

Kill me before I put the DVD in.
I enjoy the Web Planet, and it's probably even better with Hallucinagenics

Heh, this thread is Transcendentally Dimensional. The Title is bigger on the inside :guffaw:

Yeah, my machine autocompleted it from another post elsewhere, and when I noticed and changed it, it didn't stay changed on the menu...

I've actually watched some of it on hallucinogens. :rommie:

Like most movies/shows while tripping, it's just awkward cause you're super aware that what you're watching is this strange production of people pretending to be people they're not inside a rectangle. It's uncomfortable because while reality is bending and shifting and morphing around you, what's on the TV screen unfolds in a straight, linear fashion the same way it's always gone and always will go, and it sticks out like a sore thumb, like the Prophets from DS9 trying to observe the regular world.

Getting stoned and watching The Web Planet, on the other hand, rocks. :techman:

Part 1 of "The Web Planet" is always the episode that I show to people to give them an idea of Hartnell-era Doctor Who at its most pointless. The Doctor burns Ian's tie while Barbara & Vicki debate the medical merits of asprin. Riveting stuff!:techman:
