That explains alot. :guffaw: :D

I meant to say, I thought the dedication in the book was very nice. Star Trek tends to show very few disabled people who don't have some means of easily overcoming their handicap (e.g. Geordi and his VISOR). The only other recent character I can think of with a sort of disability that doesn't have a quick solution to it is T'Prynn from Vanguard (spoiler I guess)...

with Sten's katra stuck in her head.

Unfortunately, it does have problems with the metric system. On the plus side, it does English/Klingon translations instantaneously. :D

Say, how do I join the Timeliners? Are they accepting applications?
We have several active members at the present time, but it remains to be seen how many will still actively participate once we put our noses back to the proverbial grindstones. There are always possibilities...

Well, if you are ever looking for new blood, PM me. I do this for fun anyway, so I can't imagine I'd really hate doing it in a group setting. :)

Chief Engineer Moves-With-Burning-Grace does appear at one point in the story, so we know Margaret was aware of the comics.

Or at least the other ST tale that has featured him: the SCE eBook, "Where Time Stands Still".

Ah, nice. I'd asked Margaret on here a few months back if Burning Dreams would be referencing Early Voyages, and she said (IIRC) that it would not be, since she'd never read the series and it would be too difficult to track all the issues down. Cool to hear that a reference was tossed in for us Pike comic book fans. Thanks, Margaret & KRAD! Looking forward to the book even more now!

Just picked up Burning Dreams at a local Boarders. Also saw two of the reprints on the shelf as well. I have a bit to go till I'll get to Burning Dreams. But I do look forward to reading it.

^ Sure, rub it in. *sigh* I've gone to Comic-Con each of the past three years and had every intention of going (with TerriO this time) this year, even doing several panels, but finances wouldn't allow it. :scream:

I haven't seen BD anywhere yet, but I did see two of the reprints at Borders the other day. But, since I'm not into TOS stuff I didn't get them.

So... I take it you aren't watching the live broadcasts on G4? Though they've been running classic Trek all day today.
