Usually the lights don't get that hot to do any damage to the tree. Plus, i would assume that the plastic in the tree would have a high enough melting point.

I don't see why not. Just don't put too many strings, and make sure the large bulbs are on the outer branches. Should be fine.


 The lights do get pretty warm, but not hot enough to damage the tree. My tree is made out of thin shards of plastic (or paper, I can't tell), and I've never had a problem. I thought everyone used bubble lights on artificial trees...Seeing how there are fake trees with built in lights... yes.
