Blue and Red Squadrons I believe.

Yeah, I'm watching 'The Hand of God" right now, and Red Squadron is specifically mentioned.

Also, in "War of the Gods" Silver Spar Squadron continued to exist even after it was transferred to the Galactica, but with Bojay now in command (Sheba had transferred to Blue Squadron).

In the pilot 3 episodes when Starbuck and Apollo were trying to fake out the Cylon Basestar, they added/mentioned Orange, Purple and Green squadrons, but those never existed.

And it wasn't the pilot, either. The big trick there was they were rounding up random people throughout the fleet, putting ill-fitting Viper uniforms on them, and sending them down to the big party so Sire Uri would think all of the warriors were there.

Yes, Purple and Orange was in the "Pilot". It was the last part of Saga of a Star World. Starbuck and Apollo are trying to convince the Cylon Base Star over Carillon that there are far more vipers than there really are, so the Base Star goes lower to the planet (which is about to explode).

Yes, Purple and Orange was in the "Pilot". It was the last part of Saga of a Star World. Starbuck and Apollo are trying to convince the Cylon Base Star over Carillon that there are far more vipers than there really are, so the Base Star goes lower to the planet (which is about to explode).

My favorite bits of tos cylons is when they drop biting remarks in their robot voices

Imperious Leader: All destroyed? How? We took them by surprise.

Cylon: Apparently it was not as big of a surprise as we had hoped for.

Whelp...so much for that planet and civilization...and probably species.

Season 2 to me seemed to have a facade of being more serious but was just as silly really, dwarves, satyrs, etc. However, I could never get past taking sexy strong pilot leader Wilma Deering and turning her into a flight attendant (complete with uniform). I'll take fun disco Buck Rogers over that.

Not to mention that season 2 was very blatantly a Star Trek ripoff, complete with a Spock character (Hawk.) Seeking out the 'lost tribes of Earth' premise was little different from seeking out 'strange new worlds, new life and new civilizations.' etc. Ironically, though, they never actually found any lost tribes of Earth.

If I remember correctly, in one episode they found one, but it was almost by accident and they didn't realize that in theory that was their mission.

That would have been taken care of in "The Wheel of Fire".

The whole thing was a test by the people on the Ship of Lights (Angela was one of them) to see if Starbuck was worthy of joining them. Which he did.

BSG and Buck Rogers had the same effects house…Buck’s pistol and modified shuttle wound up in BSG’s Eastern Alliance episodes.

Heck, the Thunderfighter was based off Viper concept art.
