I just read this over in General Media. I'm not really familiar with her, but dying at 32 is awful no matter what. No doubt there was some external factor, like drug use or anorexia, like Karen Carpenter. Why can't people learn from the mistakes of others?

Yeah, I just read this on IMDB. Needless to say, I was quite shocked -- whatever problems she might have had, I really didn't see this coming.

While I wasn't really much of a fan, I thought she was pretty good in the few things of hers that I've seen. And 32... damn, that's just way too young.

I found an update from TMZ:

Brittany Murphy was very ill in the hours before she went into cardiac arrest and died, sources tell TMZ.

We're told Murphy was taking prescription meds for flu-like symptoms she had been experiencing for several days. We're told Murphy began vomiting early Sunday morning and told family members she was feeling very ill.

Sources say various prescriptions were found in the home -- written for Brittany Murphy, husband Simon Monjack, and Brittany's mom. One source says, "There were a lot ... a lot of prescriptions in the house."

Law enforcement sources tell us Murphy collapsed in the bathroom and somehow ended up in the shower ... there was, we're told, a significant amount of vomit in the immediate area.

We're also told authorities did not find illegal drugs in the house, but Murphy was definitely taking various prescription meds.

Sources say her condition and the meds could have triggered a heart attack, but it's too early to know. An autopsy will be performed Monday or Tuesday. We reported earlier Monjack did not want an autopsy but ultimately it's the Coroner's call.

As we first reported, Brittany Murphy's mother told paramedics her daughter suffered from diabetes. We're told it was type 2 diabetes and people involved in the case doubt her condition caused her death.

I still thinks it's either drugs or an eating disorder or a combination of the two. If you look at how she looked in Clueless to now, it's a 180 turn. I feel like she succombed to looking like a starlet no matter the cost to her body. It's a real shame.

I was very sad to hear about her death! She was a great actress! Unfortunately Hollywood and drugs go hand in hand so my first thought was that it might be drug related. I hope I'm wrong, though. Either way it's tragic to die so young.

This is so sad. I also remember her in Clueless as well as a pretty well-known TV show in the day: "The Torkelson's Almost Home". It usually came on the Disney Channel and she played the daughter of the Dad that the Torkelson's went to move in with. I always thought she was a very attractive and successful actress..I also adored her in "Uptown Girls". That movie always makes me cry especially in the end! She will indeed be missed.

She was a recurring character on Boy meet World (the character was similiar to the one on Clueless if I remember right.
