"Brinkmanship" description on Amazon

Looks like the Ezri shot is a Photoshop of one of Nicole's Dead Zone promo pics with maybe a shot from "Shadows and Symbols" (as she seems to be carrying the Starfleet duffel from that episode on her shoulder).

I really liked the first five "character" covers for Typhon Pact, and was mildly (very mildly) disappointed that Plagues of Night and Raise the Dawn didn't continue them. However, I really hope this one is not final, as both characters just look odd - Ezri especially. The Dead Zone photo has her in just as high of a collar as her Starfleet outfit, yet the artist seems to have added some neck that Nicole simply doesn't have, which, combined with the different hair, made me do a double take and wonder if it was a different model at first.

I actually like the coloring and the background on that cover. Picard does look a bit frowny, but at least he has an expression, unlike on the cover of PoD. Ezri does indeed look like a bad photoshop job.

I don't mind the idea behind the cover, but the execution needs a lot of work.

Again, it's important to remember that the covers that come out this early are usually preliminary artwork, rough drafts that are put out with the promotional material because it's too early for the final art to be available.

Looking forward to this! :techman:

But I agree with the "working" cover. It's not just the hair or pips...her face looks kinda thin. In a disturbing way. The look in the eyes kinda enhances that effect.

BTW, this is speaking as a big fan of the Dead Zone series. Nicole NEVER looked like that in the series--ever. But then...perhaps it was just an unflattering angle. And some bad lighting, or something.

I sincerely hope--as others suggested--that it's going to be updated, with some FAR better shots....

BTW...out of curiosity, have we seen Bashir and Sarina yet--in that one that just came out?

You mean in Plagues of Night?

Well, Ezri and the Aventine...
are lost in a battle with the Romulans protecting the station. Just after a scene where she confesses her love for him, and him for her, after foiling a Section 31 plot by Serena to assassinate Tomalak that Bashir foils with Ezri's help. Very sad, moving death for a great character and great ship. Her last though is "Julian...." But, there's hope; after all
I totally made all that up.

Uh-huh. Very funny.

Perhaps I gave the wrong second name--I accidently dropped Ezri's name instead of Sarina's.

In all seriousness...do Bashir and Sarina appear in Plagues?

(BTW...for some reason, you're "spoiler" doesn't seem to be coming up the normal way....)

Weird, dunno.

Maybe Ezri's new neck is a plot point of the novel: after a freak accident with a newfound changeling infant, Ezri's body begins to stretch out of control...

Perhaps not.

:p
