Please tell me this is true!!!
Una writing about Cardassians is ALWAYS good!!! And strangly enough, I'm looking forward to more Aventine. I was not a big fan of TrekLit Ezri, and the Aventine crew, but I've been rereading Destiny and A Singular Destiny, and they're growing on me.
I'm looking forward to seeing the Ferengi again too, perhaps a certain Grand Nagus and his lovely wife?
Just Ferengi in general would be cool already!
This sounds excellent although the line "the Cardassian delegates don't seem particularly keen on using diplomacy to resolve the situation" makes he wonder if Garak is actually in this.
Yay Una McCormack/cardassians/picard/probably garak
The return of the Aventine, great news.
I'm liking it so far.
Sounds very interesting. Can't wait! Between Picard, Dax and the Frengi, I don't know which I want to see most!
It's all good...
That sounds very interesting. I'm actually impressed by just how weighty that description is - an interesting setup politically, confirmation on the Cardassians being present (yay!), the Tzenkethi apparently playing a large role (they're one of the most interesting adversaries we've had in a while), and the Ferengi potentially involved. I guess we needed a Cardassian/Ferengi book next, to see how the expanded Khitomer Accords are working out. And the description even gives us notice on several characters who will supposedly be appearing. All of this appeals to me, so I hope the description is fully accurate.
Oh man if Garak is in this... oh man oh man.
I'm so pumped, I can't even tell you. With only a brief blip for Martin, who I'm not such a fan of, we get Christopher, DRG3, Beyer, McCormack, and Mack in a row. It's brilliant.
Yay! More Aventine!
This sounds grest! Una writing Cardassians, more Tzenkethi, and best of all Dax and Aventine!
Oh that sounds great. ::Gets back to the DS9-R reading grindstone.::
Ohhh, the Aventine, Cardassians, Ferengi - I love it!!
Only I'm not looking forward to September. September is closer to December & after this weak winter we just had in MN I'm hoping December 2012 doesn't bring The Wrath of Old Man Winter.
Sounds like a great book and with the other announcements it should be a great second half of the year.
The Enterprise crew is featuring in all 3 TP this year, I wish this was featuring on the Aventine solely or maybe have the Robinson doing the Enterprise role
^It's probably because TNG books sell better than books about literature-original crews.
The description makes it sound a bit like the Cuban Missile Crisis for the 24th century... I like.
I hope Ms. McCormack reads these threads from time to time so that she sees how much her writing is appreciated. It's really nice to go through a whole page of comments where literally everyone is saying positive things about an idea. (Particularly nice on a Star Trek board... )
Yeah, this book is going to be awesome.
