The Last Starfighter is based on Brian Brophy’s in-class writing assignment of what he did over his Summer vacation.
Galaxy Quest is based on real-life events that happened to him after “Measure of a Man” aired. He was regaling John Updike, Steve Wozniak, and Jon Bon Jovi with the tale at the sauna when from around the corner Dick Cavett overheard and, well, word spread quickly from there.
I’ve been trying like hell to figure out just how the Burn could have happened, and I’ve come to the conclusion that an angry and vengeful Brian Brophy is the only logical answer.
Odd that a big X doesn't count - what if it's 95% filled? Is there a legal threshold, and who measures that? XD
The only logical and just end to this thread would be if Bruce Maddox returned in season 2 of LD voiced by Brian Brophy. I mean they gave us Spoiler: Spoiler Packleds, Titan, Salamanders, TAS references and use the term TOS so they are clearly fans of TrekBBS
[/SPOILER] And for nothing! At least Spoiler Icheb's death served the story. Bruce and Hugh's were just for shock value.
Maybe PIC Maddox was one of many golems and there is a Bruce golem banging around in the 32nd century
Brian Brophy wins 99% of the vote in the race for best Bruce Maddox! Rumor has it even John Ales voted for him.
Everyone secretly knows that Earth has been under extraterrestrial subjugation since aliens first made contact with the Illuminati in Roswell in 1947. 2020 happened because Ambassador Brophy declined to continue in his position after Maddox was recast with John Ales — that is because, like Jesus, “Brophy wept.” Let us pray his lamentations end soon.
