Brett Favre to the Jets

Yea. I'm a huge Jets fan, but I never actually expected him to end up here. I need to go get my new jersey lol.

Get your Madden 09 covers while they last. They might be a collectors item, unless they are recalling all of them. That would really suck if they did but they probably are.

Are you joking? EA isn't going to recall 80 bajillion copies of a game based on its cover image.

The NFL will simply wince when it looks at the cover, and then grin when it gets the royalties from those 80 bajillion copies being sold.

I didn't think they would, but I couldn't be sure.

Someone text messaged to ESPN Up All Night that the Packers have gotten rid of Optimus Prime and are now counting on Rodimus Prime.

According to the NFL Network, if Favre is traded to the Minnesota Vikings, the Packers receive the Jets' next three first-round draft picks.

Unfortunately, the Jets have an almost mildly competent GM. :(

Random fact from sport radio guy -- Favre is now older than his head coach. The last time that happened was Craig Morton and Dan Reeves with the Broncos, 1982.

I fail to understand this Favre worship. He's an aging QB with his best days behind him at Green Bay. I wish him luck and all, but this whole thing is rather silly. IMO.

Well, it's mainly because the dude is a )(@%ing genius on the field, and that while he might not have many seasons left in him physicaly, he's the balls right now.

Mr. "Throw the ball downfield and pray a Packer catches it instead of a defender" is not what I'd call a genius. Favre's a great athlete, but he's not a fantastic QB.

He finished second in MVP voting and carried his team to the league championship game. Not too shabby.

Due to lack of talent of some of the starting QBs in the NFL right now, I have no doubt Favre would be better than at least 25% of them. But he's still an aging QB with his best years behind him. If I was a GM, I wouldn't give up anything over a 6th round draft choice for him, Favre is nothing more than a stop gap QB or insurance at this point.

He had horrific seasons in 2005 and 2006, has a history of putting himself before his team, has openly said -- and recently -- that he prefers to not practice and does not like studying game film, and two-thirds of his passing yardage last year came after the catch. It was the receivers and Ryan Grant carrying the team last year, not Favre.

Here's one Packers fan that'll be glad to see him go. I don't have any faith in Aaron Rodgers, but I'm sick of all the drama. Time to move on.

So a trade to the Bears is still possible? Sweet! :guffaw:

Aaron Rodgers is a Jeff Tedford "system" quarterback. So he should be about as successful in the NFL as Tedford's other first round draft pick QBs Joey Harrington, Aliki Smith and Kyle Boller.
