Brett Favre to the Jets

Something I am more curious about now, than how Favre will fare with the Jets .... is where will Chad Pennington land? He's got too much experience for teams needing a solid backup QB to pass him over. That and he's a heckuva student of the game, not to mention an all-aroudn good guy.

I look forward to watching several Patriots defenders pick Farve off this year... if he stays with Jersey B, that is.

I fail to understand this Favre worship. He's an aging QB with his best days behind him at Green Bay. I wish him luck and all, but this whole thing is rather silly. IMO.

Despite being from Wisconsin and a packer fan, I fail to get it as well. A friend of mind practically worships the ground he walks on. I think he is decent, but he certianly never walked on water in my opinion.

Though I do wonder what was going on behind the scenes of this dramafest. No offence to the Jets, but if Favre had any desire to end his career on a high note- staying with Green Bay would have been his best bet. (In fact, before this news I heard that he changed his opinion AGAIN and wanted to be reinstated with Green Bay). To me, donning the green and white will only gurantee that his career will end in a whimper unless the sheer power of his majesty can get the Jets to suddenly not suck anymore.

That's what kind of puzzles me. Other times when Favre went off on one of his retirement spiels, he talked about wanting to go out "on a high note". Does he really think that'll happen with the Jets? The Jets have been improving, but their front line is kind of iffy. There's quite a few AFC East defenses that could eat him alive.

The Jets did sign a couple of new OL studs in the off-season - Faneca from Pittsburgh, and Damien Woody as well. With a good, though young Nick Mangold at center, the OL may well be significantly improved. That probably wll depend upon if Dbrickashaw Ferguson can live up to his draft pick status. It does take a new group of offensive linemen time to get used to each other and work as a unit, though. Jett Favre may not be running for his life all season... but he better keep those legs in shape. His OL in Green Bay was solid and had I think 3-4 seasons together at least.

This is so hard for me. It's like a divorce between two parents you love very much. I can't take sides!

Chad signed with the despised Dolphins. I used to like Chad P but now hes the enemy so he must be crushed. As for Old Man Farve, if he can get us to a superbowl, I don`t care what kind of circus he will bring in the offseason.

The chances of Favre talking the Jets to the Super Bowl is slim to none. You have to have a good team in order for that to happen, and Favre isn't the whole team.

I finally saw some clips of Favre in that Jets preseason game.
Was an odd thing to see.
I am a Favre fan first. Only cared about GB because of him but they did have a certain charm, respected history and fanbase of decent disposition that made it an easy marriage.

Can't say I feel the same for the Jets organization or its fanbase at large. Better than Oakland for sure but its going to be tough to root for Favre and the Jets both doing well.

Brett Favre will regret the day he came out of retirement. He should have stayed retired and let his legacy of 18 years in the league stay what it was. Now he'll be like Unitas and Namath, old pros who stayed way past their prime. The Jets have a piss poor line that will cause him to take way too many hits.
