They gave her blonde hair because Sue Storm is blonde. They also dyed Chris Reeve's brown hair black because Superman has black hair. Its an acting thing. Becoming another person and all that.

There are plenty of "white people" who look like Alba. There are also naturally blonde "hispanics".

For me the biggest problem with Alba is that she looked too young to be Sue. Johnny is supposed to be the "baby" of the team and Chris Evans came off as older that Alba, even when acting juvenile.

Not the best example but Nicholas II was still on the throne in the Fourth Season episodes of Enterprise set during an altered WWII, and because the Nazi's found the Romanovs less unpredictable, they were able to roll on through and make a beach head in America after conquering England.

But that episode was shit as far as historical accuracy goes. First off, to imply they had a shot in hell of invading America is one. Second, to imply that Hitler wouldn't have invaded the Soviet Union is another. I think the airplanes are at least OK as far as historical accuracy goes, but I'd have to doublecheck.

Operation Sea Lion never had a snowball's chance of succeeding. They needed to establish air superiority over England and they were simply unable to do that. They could have conquered all the way to Kamchatka and it wouldn't have changed the fact that Britain was outproducing Germany in fighter planes and their planes were out-surviving German planes.

Darned good thread so far, with some thought-provoking content. However, fascinating as the history lessons (re: Hitler et al) have been, let's keep the discussion focused on the movie and the protests related therein.

Originally I thought the casting was a bit dodgy, but having read the complaints, I'm all for casting black actors as Norse gods.

The Norse gods aren't Scandanavian humans. They could be green, they could have tentacles coming out of their nipples for all we know. Not to mention in this version they are aliens anyway. And my Finnish girlfriend years ago was a brunette. And Laplanders look like Eskimos. So who gives a freck? Only Councils of Conservative Cretins.

Even if the movie is complete crap, I think I'll go twice to make up for the boycott.

Trent I salute you and agree with you on the subject of boycotting a film its a fantasy film based upon what Marvel envisioned not reality as we know it,and this group is a white supremacist organization,and therefore certifiably nuts,but remember when The Last Temptation of Jesus Christ came out I went to a theater that was being picketed showing the film any way ,because the power of the almighty dollar was more powerful that some supremacist organization or religious organization that had thought their image of what Jesus was and what he represented to their beliefs,and that film went to win an Oscar because the curiosity out-weighed the protests.
That's my opinion and I'm sticking to it.

Sorry Samuel,
I normally check for run on sentences before I post,and the fact I'm getting tired so my self-checking the sentences was over looked,but my statement had to be made.
Maybe someone could add a sentence correction mode just like word for fragments,and run on sentences or I could what I used to do pre write the post in word then paste it into the thread.
