Boycott Wolverine to help Trek?

I don't know why people are threatened by Wolverine. I think this just shows people are ready for the summer movie season and will be ready to spend on Trek.

Ironically, the reason Trek won't get my money next week is because of Mothers Day! I have plans to go see it with people who are coming from out of state even to go see it Imax but we're doing it the following week (which is going to be rough waiting) because of that.

87 million opening weekend. Now the interesting part begins.

This then means Star Trek is doomed. You should have boycotted Wolvwervine like OP said.

Que?

Interesting as in does W have legs. I didn't boycott the movie--just had no interest in seeing it.

Ironically, my son with his newfound licensed freedom went to see it with friends yesterday and thought it largely sucked. Would've preferred to see The Soloist, but was outvoted. :p

Wow I never thought it would open with 87 million! That is impressive especially with all the bad reviews. Would be great if Trek XI could do that much or more!

So they're expecting Wolverine to get just a little less today than it did yesterday? Are Sundays usually as lucrative as Saturdays?

Sunday being lower is normal, Saturdays are usually the top day. For most movies Saturday doing less than Friday is not a good sign but not so for the first weekend of highly anticipated movies like Wolverine or Star Trek, as they get a lot of hard core fans seeing it on the first day (and especially if the Friday numbers include Thursday midnight shows, Wolverine got $5 million out of those midnight shows).

I kinda wanted to boycott Wolverine, but ended up watching it anyway. The reason I wanted to boycott Wolverine initially was less amount wanting Trek to look better, but because something needs to stop FOX from ruining the comic book properties it has.

As for the estimate FOX released, I think they're overestimating by $1-2 million.

If they include this Thursday's box in with Friday's box for Trek then it's going to be huge since there are many places with 7 and 10 pm showings.

Anyone not seeing Wolverine to help Trek look better?

Stupidest. Post. Ever.

You've obviously never been in TNZ.

Yep, that's what they are doing here. if it weren't for the fact that I'm stuck at work all evening/ night, I would be at the Thursday 7pm show.
