Boy trapped in homemade balloon...

No, no. This is a misunderstanding. We're supposed to just breathe a sigh of relief that the boy is OK. Can't you keep up with those who don't see the reality for what it is?

Seriously, who is it you're arguing with?

I was wondering the same thing.

Never said I was arguing with anyone; however, a review of the last three pages should clue either of you two in the general directions of where my comment stems. If not, then that's not my problem.

Considering both cultcross and I, two relatively intelligent individuals, have no idea what you're talking about I'd say it is your problem if you want to be understood.

He owes you nothing. And this isn't a courtroom - or TNZ.

So let it go.

I never said he owes me anything nor did I say that it was TNZ. Are you singling me out because I post in TNZ? Seems that way to me.

Only in America can something this crazy happen.
Don't sell yourselves short. ;)

Unfortunately for me this is a US only thing. If this were to happen in the UK neighbors would be complaining about the weird guy next door building something and a Judge would do something to stop the parents from naming their kid Falcon. What kind of a f name is that for a child?

The only thing crazy that could come close is the annual Break-your-bones-chasing-a-cheese-down-a-hill event

:wtf:

I can't believe this is what passes for newsworthy these days.
You don't find the possibility of a 6-year old boy trapped in a balloon thousands of feet in the air newsworthy?

I mean, I know it turned out to be a bunch of crap, but if it had been true I'd say it's worth news coverage.

Stories of trapped people make great news. Look at the story of the two Tasmanian miners that were trapped hundreds of feet below the surface in the Beaconsfield mine. That story went world wide and lasted for days.

Stories of trapped children are even more newsworthy.

I'm quite sure the UK has weird backyard inventors and wannabe scientists who conduct bizarre experiments and launch balloons, and that there are plenty of kids and adults with strange names. Besides, I'm not sure claiming to live in a country that outlaws or strongly discourages such things is really a positive thing. Nothing wrong with indulging a little weirdness sometimes. It adds flavor.

The name is fine. Just because it's not to your liking doesn't mean it's something that should be illegal.

It also allows for the existence of TrekBBS. :rommie:

Baby Jessica laughs at this kid.

I was surprise to learn that Baby Jessica is now 23 years old. When she turns 25 she will receive over $1,000,000 that has been held in trust for her after wellwishers sent her donations after her rescue.

What I don't get is that they released that home video that makes it all the more obvious that they knew he wasn't in there. I mean...they were there when it launched it. They saw he wasn't there and there wasn't a box attached.

They're either really good liars, or they're completely retarded.

Given how he pressed through his morning interviews while his son was throwing up in his lap...he's a media whore.

I know a thing or two about media whores.

Hiding in boxes isn't the way to get yourself positive media attention, this Australian baby shows the proper way to gain it.
