Boxers/Briefs..NOTHING

Hmm, just what sort of 'no-line showing underwear' was this? If I remember one TNG episode, looking very closely I could see the lines of a lacy bra cup underneath the uniform of Lieutenant Jeanna D'Sora.

So yes, I'm almost certain they wear underwear in the 24th Century. This thread saved me from starting a new one on the subject, namely because I'm writing a racy scene for one of my fanfics...

Menfolk out there, you do realise that we women can buy bras that look smooth & like we're not really wearing them (except for the lift)? They're made to be worn under tshirts and sweaters.

ETA: One would hope with all the whizzbang technology of the 23rd &24th centuries they have cracked the VPL issue (VPL= visible panty line).

I think it would be strange indeed if we can travel faster than the speed of light, yet not manage that.

I never gave this issue any thought, always taking that people wore skivvies under their uniforms as a given. There's a whole laundry list of reasons why not doing so as a general rule would be a bad idea.

No, of course it is not. However, I've read some of the more bizarre complaints that the FCC has received about women showing any amount of flesh. There are some people who have serious issues with "nekkid" women in the US. No one seems to mind bloody violence, though.

no offence to Americans, but there are some people in your country with some seriously twisted morality...

you sell guns on the high street, but won't show a kid using a gun in a movie.

you've got a HUGE porn industry, but a woman can't flash a tit on TV

straight sex is okay in movies, but gay sex is heinous

sex gets movies higher ratings than violence

seriously: WTF?!

Add in: Tobacco is sold in supermarkets, but showing it on a film now gets you an automatic PG-13 rating (the MPAA had proposed making it an automatic R rating). Next time you see Trek XI look at the promo for Land of the Lost and it includes a Tobacco warning.

Why thank you for that information. I definitely will use that logic in my fanfic.

You can see Rand's panties if you freezeframe at the right point of The Enemy Within when Evil Kirk is trying to have his way with her. They're red.

I wonder what the 24th Century Edition of Victoria's Secret must be like? It must have different sections and selections for different races if its circulation is as galactic in the 24th Century as it is global in our century?

In the future they actually use forcefields to hold their junk in place... true story.

I guess there are forcefields with lift and ones that give cleavage for the ladies huh?

I bet that they wouldn't feel as nice to wear as a high quality, properly fitted satin pushup bra though.

Well, hey, at least this thread answered a question for fanfiction and will definitely be a help for a couple love scenes I'm gonna be writing.

Not using the forcefields idea, I will be using the concept of bras, panties boxers and briefs still existing in the 24th Century.

I wonder what Victoria's Secret's circulation is like in the 24th and 23rd Century. If it's galactic I wonder how its lines for various species would be...
