Hmm, just what sort of 'no-line showing underwear' was this? If I remember one TNG episode, looking very closely I could see the lines of a lacy bra cup underneath the uniform of Lieutenant Jeanna D'Sora.

So yes, I'm almost certain they wear underwear in the 24th Century. This thread saved me from starting a new one on the subject, namely because I'm writing a racy scene for one of my fanfics...

I think it would be strange indeed if we can travel faster than the speed of light, yet not manage that.

I never gave this issue any thought, always taking that people wore skivvies under their uniforms as a given. There's a whole laundry list of reasons why not doing so as a general rule would be a bad idea.

No, of course it is not. However, I've read some of the more bizarre complaints that the FCC has received about women showing any amount of flesh. There are some people who have serious issues with "nekkid" women in the US. No one seems to mind bloody violence, though.

Add in: Tobacco is sold in supermarkets, but showing it on a film now gets you an automatic PG-13 rating (the MPAA had proposed making it an automatic R rating). Next time you see Trek XI look at the promo for Land of the Lost and it includes a Tobacco warning.

Well, hey, at least this thread answered a question for fanfiction and will definitely be a help for a couple love scenes I'm gonna be writing.

Not using the forcefields idea, I will be using the concept of bras, panties boxers and briefs still existing in the 24th Century.

I wonder what Victoria's Secret's circulation is like in the 24th and 23rd Century. If it's galactic I wonder how its lines for various species would be...
