What I like best about DSC is getting away from all the TNG stuff.

I'm enjoying it now before someone who grew up with TNG -- i.e. someone around my age -- takes over the franchise. To everyone here who hates all the TOS stuff in DSC: this is nothing compared to what there will be in the future.
