Did you mean Ft McClellan? If so thats not a fictional post. Its located just outside of Anniston, Alabama. They used to train MPs and checmial soldiers there. It was shut down in 1999. Now its been downgraded to a National Guard training center. Also the fictional Ft McCellan, from the Danny Devito movie whose name I cannot remember at this point.

If you can, see if you can bring Dr. Scholl's mole skin to protect your feet if the get blisters or callouses.
Funny someone mentioned stashing contraband in the barracks. I did basic at Fort Dix in October of 1988. Our barrack's shower had a tiny locked door that plumbers used to access pipes and whatnot. The funny thing was, the door looked locked, but could be forced opened at the hinge. A buddy and I found a shitload of stuff stashed back there, and kept a bunch of our stuff there as well. Made some good $$$ selling stuff to guys in the platoon.
Lol the real thing cannot be that bad...Full Metal Jacket...

Wednesday next week I'll be starting my 1 year training at the Royal Military Academy of the Dutch Armed Forces. I'll be training to become an Officer in the Royal Netherlands Air Force. I picked up my gear today at the depot and had it sent off to the Academy.
Everyone was allowed to take 1 pair of boots with them to get used to walking in them. Now I got a pair of wooly socks with it that itch like hell! Is there a soldier's remedy against this? Except sucking it up of course.
Anyways, I'm starting with a 2.5 week bootcamp. I was wondering if anyone here had some experience or tips they'd wish to share with me!
Of course all military bootcams are designed to make a person miserable. It weeds out the strong from the weak. Once graduated, you will join real military and wear what you want.
Will you be going to a technical school after? Those are fun too.
PS: I retired as an E-9 in the USAF. Chiefs eat Lieutenants for lunch. "Yes Sir", isn't always "Yes Sir" for some...
Alright everyone! The moment has arrived! I'm leaving in a few minutes.
See you all on september 4th. Try not to burn down the BBS (without me).
Soldier 3rd class Omnius, salutes.
thanks! Right now I'm living in the barracks right outside the 75th Rangers, about half a quarter mile from where the Airborne school is. Unfortunately, I don't think they're using Infantry Hall right now. They're changing the whole thing since they're moving armor down here and turning it into the Manuever center or some suchSo you living in the Quads? Tired of the Infantry Hall yet? Congrats.Good luck at the academy!
I enlisted in the US Army myself in 2007 and commissioned as a second lieutenant back in may. Right now I'm currently at officer school in Georgia and following that I'll be heading to Signal School to become a communications officer

Civilian trampledamage waves cheerily
It was very demanding both mentally and physically, but I survived the IP. (Introductory Program) It's designed to shake you up a bit, make you realize what it means to be a soldier.
I'll see if I can post a picture soon.
I'll add some more stuff later, but Im too lazy and tired now to bother![]()
