Based on the past couple of seasons? That doesn't narrow it down nearly enough.
American Dad > Family Guy
AMERICAN DAD kind of sucked at first but it's actually gotten funnier than FAMILY GUY in the last year or two. Roger the Alien is a better character than most of the ones on the other show anymore.
Yes, Roger is hilarious!! I could never get into "Family Guy" - the characters just aren't funny, and their voices are so annoying that listening to them is like hearing nails on a chalkboard (it makes my ears bleed). If anything, watching it just makes me angry, whereas "American Dad" makes me laugh my ass off.

FAMILY GUY still has moments of borderline genius, but even for it the random, anything-goes jokes and references get old after a while. Some of them are hilarious. Others groaningly awful. Sometimes SOUTH PARK's take on FG sounds more and more true with each passing year.
Well they can always move Cleveland's spinoff to Comedy Central or Adult Swim if it fares poorly over on Fox. These days failing shows on free network TV have other lifelines...if only ENTERPRISE had been treated that way.
Probably not. Like trying to spin JOANIE LOVES CHACHI off from HAPPY DAYS. Without the Fonz or either Ralph or Potsie, it was doomed.
