I was in Morrisons today and saw a copy of Alan Wake on sale.

Hang on? Alan Wake has *actually* been released?! This must be a sign of the End Times - only by Duke Nukem 4Ever will we know for sure...

Every time i complete an episode i keep expecting a message to pop up "We're sorry to inform you that the next episode has been pushed back to 2014, please be patient whilst we apply the final polishes".

Other than that, its a great game so far.

There's an especially memorable set piece in episode 4. Definitely the highlight of the game thus far.

I'd like to know what Moe-Moe thought it would be a good idea to release Alan wake and Red Dead redemption the same day...I'm getting both but I suspect I'll be playing more RDR as I and several friend are looking forward to the co-op piece.

I plan to get Alan Wake in June because I am getting the new Splinter Cell next week and then get Red Dead in July. Need to spread out these new games...

Dam I forgot I need to buy Alpha Protocol too

Well to my surprise i completed Alan Wake last night, fantastic game, the last three chapters were brilliant, my only grip is that its just to short, i was really enjoying it then bang.....game over.....the game really needed at least another 3 chapters in my view.

Well back to Dragons age then.:)

As a PC gamer, my only response to this thread is:

;)

Seriously.

Not only do I now have to stop making "Alan Wait" and "Alan Wakem Forever" jokes--I still can't play the damn thing.

It's the worst of all possible worlds. :(

Hmm. I actually thought it was really well paced without overstaying its welcome.

I'm partway through Chapter 5 and I'm loving it.
The combat is fun, the story is good, the setting and atmosphere are excellent, and the graphics are great except for the lip sync and animations, both of which are awful and should of been much better for a game in development this long.

Between Alan Wake and Super Mario Galaxy 2 this is going to be an amazing month for gaming.

I'm part way through episode 4 right now, and I'm enjoying it. During ep 2 I was starting to find the combat a little repetitive, but they've made an good effort to mix it up as it goes along. The mechanics of combat are pretty original, and I'm impressed by the lighting effects. I like the fact that I'm 2/3 of the way through and I'm still not sure what's going on.

I don't really keep tabs on the gaming industry, so I wasn't aware of the delays. I only found out about the game from the millions of ads here on TBBS. First time that internet advertising has ever worked on me (AFAIK).

Just done a second run thorough on nightmare, apart from a few tricky bits it was not that difficult, although on nightmare the control systems inadequacies really do show, with only a few hits and at times only one hit needed to kill your character the controls do cause quite a bit of frustration at times.....hammering the button to activate a flare only for him to stand there doing nothing and get killed, and that bloody xbox d-pad to change weapons, not the easiest thing to do when your surrounded and have to change weapons, or even worse you have to chose between flares or flash bangs.....and for some strange reason occasionally the camera would going mental and pan for no reason in the the wrong way, usually while your in battle

Oh well that's that the, now do we trade it in and get some of that money back or wait for the DLC....decision decisions....can i take more dark woods.
