Blood and Treasure series

Sparkle Fabulosa

Rear Admiral
Rear Admiral
It’s like a modern-day Indiana Jones. Premiered last night. Really enjoyed it!

I certainly recognized John Larroquette. Some of the dialogue was trying too hard, but it looks like it could be good. And they blew up a pyramid! Some people might be upset about that.

Its jarring how much it tries to be Indy, but isn't.

Someone needs to fan-edit some John Williams into this show.

Its like one of Indy's kids and a Lara Croft clone are running around together. They even use the Nazi's as occult treasure hunters and a big world map
They've even made a couple Indy jokes and made "They are digging in the wrong place!" a plot point pretty identical to the original.

Man, they missed out - they should have cast Anthony Ingruber in this. :D

I don't understand how this show is renewed already, and the way-more-fun Whisky Cavalier (very similar set up) is completely canned.

I can't watch it without thinking of (that show), the Indy knock-off-ishness, and that show Zero Hour with the Clocks and treasure hunting from a few years ago. Its fun, but not very original. Seeing Laroquette just made me think of The Magicians. Maybe I just watch too much genre TV. If this was actually licensed Indy, I'd be on board no matter what. Heh.

Because one clearly made money and one clearly didn't. That's normally how TV works. :)

One is also on CBS and owned by CBS. It got a second season. The other one aired on ABC but was made at WB so right there is probably the real reason why WC got canned.

Well Whiskey Cavalier is a spring show on ABC and Blood & Treasure is a summer show on CBS, so different networks with different ratings priorities for the seasons. Whiskey was made by Warner, which is not ABC, and Blood was made by CBS, meaning they keep all the profit. Also, I'm guessing Whiskey's cast cost considerably more than Blood's cast. The Blood supporting cast doesn't get billing for episodes they're not in, so they're also not getting paid.
