Blade Runner 2

The music was awesome. I'm disappointed Vangelis won't be back for 2049.
After seeing the original, now I have tons of questions about where things are going to be in 2049.

If I had to guess at the "final revelation" of BR2049, I'd say this:

The human race is completely extinct and everyone left on Earth is a replicant.

It is disappointing considering his score for Blade Runner is one of my absolute favorites, but I'm okay with it because Jóhann Jóhannsson is the film's composer. His score for Arrival is breathtaking and very much in the vein of Vangelis' talent.

If Blade Runner truly is in the Alien universe (as Ridley Scott keeps implying it is), then that's not happening.

That's a phildickian idea right there. :)

I could see Ray Bradbury using it, too, albeit in different ways. Dick and Bradbury have more common interests as writers than I think has commonly been recognized, and they could start with the same idea and then develop it very differently.

Still not liking Deckard's attire, feels like lazy costuming, but hopefully there's a story reason for it. Otherwise, the posters are gorgeous.

In my mind, it's probably something like this: "I'm Harrison Ford, I'm in my 70s, the original film was a miserable experience for me, I don't have to do this, and I'll costume my damn self if you want me on set."

Now that I typed that out, I can "hear" Ford delivering that line. :)

See, that's exactly what I'm worried about. The costuming isn't for the sake of the story but for the sake of keeping him happy so he'll do the film.

This and Alien: Covenant are pretty much the only genre films I care about this year.

Oh...and Star Wars VIII.

Wow, this looks great. The trailer is a little vague on the story, but it was definitely interesting. I love the look of the movie.

Looks pretty but seems to be heading for an action film.
If nothing else, it looks like it's going to keep much of the original film's pastiche. I'm still cautiously optimistic, but I'm more confident now that it will be good. I love Denis Villeneuve's body of work, and I think if anyone can follow-up my favorite film, it's him.

That being said, I'm still not sold on Ryan Gosling.
