Well, it's within striking distance of moving past all but one Star Wars film internationally.

The aforementioned W'Kabi/Okoye deleted scene has been released online.

As much as I wish the scene had been left in the film to further develop their relationship and conflict, I can understand why Ryan Coogler removed the scene because how it didn't fit with the flow of the film.
It must be really irritating to a director, to shoot a powerful scene like this only to realize that it can't be fit into the movie. Interesting though, that Coogler is happy for us to see the scene as though it were a little free standing mini movie, which is the way it plays.

I'd love to see more interaction between these two in BP2.

I give it an A. It's one of my favorite Marvel Studios movies (a list which includes the first Captain America movie, the first Iron Man movie, and the third Thor movie).
I agree. Except for the third Thor movie.

Kor

Today is the first time the film went under one million dollars on a Friday, on day 78. Pretty damn impressive considering The Force Awakens reached that milestone two weeks prior in its run (Avatar, on the other hand, was still going strong).

The movie was okay, nothing special.
But the bad guy was terrible

You must've watched a different film from the rest of us. Most people consider Killmonger one of the best, if not the best, MCU villain.

Ok the movie was more than ok, I really like T'Challa and Shuri.
But Killmonger the best villain? i found his arrogance a little bit irritating, but that is just my opinion

Ryan Coogler has revealed what happened to Killmonger's mother and it's rather tragic:

Before the events of Black Panther, N'Jobu (Sterling K. Brown), the brother of the king of Wakanda, falls in love with a woman in Oakland and they have a child, who grows up to be Erik "Killmonger" Stevens (Michael B. Jordan). It is through his love for Erik's mother that N'Jobu changes his mind about the world outside of Wakanda, and decides he must help its people.

At the start of Black Panther, the audience sees N'Jobu and a young version of Forest Whitaker's character, Zuri (Denzel Whitaker in the flashbacks), formulating a plan in an Oakland apartment.

"The idea was when you see those guys talking over the paperwork in the beginning of the film, they're talking about a way to break her out of jail," Coogler explains. "The idea was they never got her out, and she passed away in prison, so Killmonger didn't come up with a mom either."

In box office news, this is the first Sunday below a million dollars (a week after The Force Awakens did the same), but still made nearly $1.5 million on Saturday. It's now at $693,1 million and beginning to lose steam. It could still make it to $700 million but it might take a while for it to get there. Still showing at 1,641 theaters (which is down only nine from the previous week) certainly helps.

His arrogance was part of his villainy. He made valid points about racial oppression in the world but his arrogant means were not the right solutions to the real problems.

Not a very high bar... :p
Vulture, Loki, and Thanos are all great villains along with Killmonger, so yes, a very high bar.

My favorite villain establishing moment for him is right in the beginning. He gives this whole lecture about colonialism and theft and rank ignorance of the people being stolen from the curator he's murdering, and then immediately steals a mask he doesn't know jack shit about because he thinks it looks cool. Right there, you can tell he's become his own enemy, and that continues on throughout the film.

I hadn't thought about that moment with the mask in that way, but you're right about that. Great observation.

The poison certainly seemed to do the job and Klaue had no qualms about killing all of the guards, so I think it's safe to say she died. Killmonger certainly didn't give a shit about her considering his speech to her about imperialism.

And if you want to throw the non-movie villains in there too, add Fisk, Kilgrave and probably about half a dozen more from AoS. ;)
