Captain_R_J_Powell two warnings for flaming. Calling someone a wanker isn't on. You then went onto tell someone to fuck off. Again, not tolerable.

Your apology in a later post to the poster saves you (a little!), and I appreciate that you did that. However, rules are rules and you're outta line.

^^Welcome to the likes of those that have been banned for one day. I am a proud member ... :o

But seriously, i have absolute faith that this game will be completed. If we all allow the guys to work and not be constantly bitching at them, then the faster it'll be finished.

If its any consolation, I've been banned for a day when I was a mod here (about 3 years ago) for insisting that a young actor, who slated Star Trek should 'go take a drug overdose'. (I think!).

Trust me, it takes work to get perma'd. I hope that it never comes to that.

I loved the original BOTF, but I thought it didn't live up to its potential. I wish the developers luck on the BOTFII project. It's surely a monumental task :)

I also enjoyed BOTF myself aswell did my cousin ... and also believe that some aspects of it could have been better (like graphics during the fights) but overall it was a well made game.

It would be nice if BOTF 2 would be released soon, but since only 1 person is working on it, naturally it's going to take time as real life is also a factor one has to take into consideration.

Any projected thoughts though on when BOTF 2 might be released ?

I played the alpha little bit. Not everything is working, but it definitely looks very promising. After 450 turns I'm still at the beginning. I colonized few systems, one race join my Federation (which was very expensive), research is also working very nice... There are few things I haven't figered out, but they are probably not implemented yet.
Here are few screenshots from the game:
    Galaxy
    System
    Research
    Diplomacy
    Good work so far!

It does look very nice. I'll have to dig out my old German dictionary.

I hope there will be an official sequel one day, now that official ST games are in production again it is possible in principle. But sadly, 4x games don't seem to be on the minds of any (potential) ST game developpers.

Did BOTF not sell well that nobody has yet thought seriously about a (professional) sequel?
