Biographies?

IMHO, the most biographed (new verb?) Star Trek character in later centuries will be Worf. His position as fulcrum or prime mover in so many of the political upheavals of a major quadrant power is going to make historians tremendously interested in him. Like Kingmaker: The Life and Acts of Worf, Son of Mogh or The Man Who Moved An Empire: Worf, Son of Mogh and Klingon Politics in the Latter Twenty-Fourth Century (though I'm looking less forward to "Blazing Bat'leths!", the loose holographic adaptation of his life by a cryogenically preserved Joel Schumacher).

Fictitiously yours, Trent Roman
It will be called Worf: From Traitor's Son to Ambassador in Twenty Easy Years and the TV series: "Worf, Qo'noS Ranger"

^^Why are you all assuming that a biography would have to be consistent with other books or vice-versa? As the Shatnerverse books and the Crucible trilogy make clear, continuity among Trek novels is not mandatory. If someone comes along with a good idea that's inconsistent with other books, there's no reason for them not to do it.

I think that was a failing of the Crucible books, btw.

Regardless (not that I'm a continuity-slave), but I think the format would just be dull. I would prefer a story, with multiple characters, and good characterization. I'm not fascinated by a fictional biography.

No doubt this has been brought up before, so pardon me, but would this work for Trek literature?

William Rotsler's "Star Trek II Biographies" was aimed at younger readers but, as interesting as it was, the entries were already being overwritten by canon when ST III came out.

Mind you, Rotsler created "Nyota" as Uhura's first name - for "Star Trek II Biographies" - which was then picked up by "Uhura's Song" (by Janet Kagan) and other novels.

"Burning Dreams" by Margaret Wander Bonanno is a great bio of Pike.
