Spoilers Big reveal BTS video and S2E1 scene

Is Soji meeting Deltans?
Yeah, everyone except Soji and Jurati are bald, hmm

They have moved past Starfleet. No reason to go back unless they actually wish it. Starfleet is not the only way.
After how they treated Picard and Raffi, in their place I'd tell them to fuck off. Especially in Raffi's case.
So many Novas :luvlove:
Hilariously, a fleet of 200 identical yet previously established science vessels would have had less of a negative reaction to a fleet of 200 identical new ships:lol:

To be fair, Picard could be Academy Chancellor and live at the vineyard. France and California are just a quick transport apart.

If it’s anything like the role of a certain (former) Chancellor of the University of Huddersfield that was already mentioned here in the thread it’s mostly ceremonial anyway. Jean-Luc would have plenty of time for the vineyard. :)

Edit: Also would someone please kick me, I always think this thread comes with pictures/videos of my favorite K-Pop band

There's never been any consistency with the self-destructs. Sometimes it requires codes from multiple officers, sometimes just the Captain and XO, even others the Captain can enact it alone.
Yeah, but don't they have to give some sort of code? I don't recall any captain just saying "Initiate self destruct" and then getting a five second countdown.

Jean-Luc is an admiral. Maybe it's different for admirals. :shifty::lol: (I do agree tho it seems like a very unwise idea to just have someone yell "initiate auto destruct" at random and then the whole thing actually happens... unless the whole sequence is some sort of dream. Wouldn't surprise me.)

I have to say, it does seem like it.

LARIS: You woke up screaming again.

PICARD: I had the strangest dream! I was on the Stargazer, except is wasn't quite the Stargazer. And Raffi was there, and Rios, and Jurati. And the Borg Queen was taking over the ship and had tentacles like Doc Oc in Spiderman. So I set the autodestruct sequence without a code, and it only gave a 10 second countdown!

LOLOL

If it isn't a dream maybe it's something else... the whole thing gives me a lot of "Cause And Effect" vibes. I just watched an interview with Akiva Goldsman where he actually said that the first three episodes of season 2 "are a little deceiving".

I just want to express my excitement that these uniforms (wherever/whenever they exist in time and space) were inspired by the Monster Maroons.

Code:
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">The uniform inspiration came from crossing Next Gen with the classic Kirk movies (my personal favorite uniforms).<a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/StarTrekPicard?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">#StarTrekPicard</a> <a href="https://t.co/UPLp19Lz4J">https://t.co/UPLp19Lz4J</a></p>&mdash; Terry Matalas (@TerryMatalas) <a href="https://twitter.com/TerryMatalas/status/1497077492712046597?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">February 25, 2022</a></blockquote> <script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

I think it's ridiculous we've gone beyond a uniform for each show to a uniform for each season. But at least Lower Decks, Prodigy and Picard now all have front flaps, so there's one little shred of continuity between them:lol:
There is a time jump between Pic season 1 and 2, though they haven’t said how much

Which means we’re probably in the 25th century now

It could be a holodeck simulation. That is another common Trek trope.

It could also be a parallel universe.

Indeed. There's tons of possibilities. And trailers are MEANT to mislead people. I wouldn't count on the whole "everyone is back with Starfleet somehow and all is peachy" thing just yet.

Yeah, it could be anything. I mentioned the holodeck simulation idea because I could see a situation where Starfleet asks Picard to help with a scenario with the Borg Queen and we are seeing that scenario play out.

But since we know that time travel will be involved, I am leaning towards the alternate timeline idea. I think we are seeing an alternate timeline. Perhaps the first three episodes will show us that the Borg Queen is time travelling and trying to change the past and we see different timelines. Then we will see the main timeline with "our" Picard who will need to fix time. That's my theory anyway.
