Is that Stargazer bridge a new set? There's parts that look a lot like Discovery's but I don't recognize anything 1:1.

No, Discovery is filmed in Toronto, Picard is filmed in LA.

I don't think, with Covid and all that they'd fly most of the cast and crew to Toronto for a few scenes.

Why do I feel like this is another dream like the Data chess game? Or as someone suggested a loop that keeps resetting........If Rios is in command how could Picard activate the auto destruct on his own......something feels like a red herring here.

The BTS video seems to indicate that the Starfleet stuff happens at the the start of Episode 1.

Admiral Kirk and his crew activated the E's even though it was pretty much decommissioned and he wasn't the commander.

Like many have said, it's a big jump from the end of S1 to half of them being in (back in) Starfleet in any capacity.

They were forced out against their will, why wouldn't they be brought back?

Interesting factoid: Picard is now Chancellor of SF Academy, and Patrick Stewart is a former (emeritus) Chancellor of the University of Huddersfield!

They have moved past Starfleet. No reason to go back unless they actually wish it. Starfleet is not the only way.

That autodestruct sequence was kind of fast wasn't it? What happened to all the codes?

I'd imagine that if your mission was going after the Borg Queen, you might take the risk of overriding the usual long self-destruct code sequence with three-step verification in favor of something quick and easy to activate by one command-level officer so you can blow yourselves up before you and your crew get assimilated.

Just watched, and I'm wondering if we're not seeing multiple timelines in where each of the characters are supposed to be at the start of the season, as there seem to be conflicting details. Picard is back at the vineyard, but he's the chancellor of the academy; Raffi is back in Starfleet and seen at the academy, but she's in a relationship with Seven, who's back with the Rangers.

What's funny, is the storyboard for the Season 1 finale fleet, had a 4 nacelle ship leading it.
It was a Cardenas class from Discovery, but still.
