Big Love- Yay or Nay?

I've been considering watching this show as my library got the DVDs in and it certainly sounds quite intriguing. I've enjoyed so many of HBO's other shows (The Sopranos, The Wire, Carnivale, Curb Your Enthusiasm) so that alone has me interested. Anyone here watch it and love it? Is it worth checking out the first season?

I don't know anything about this show, but I do own David Byrne's score for the second season, which is quite a treat. Some very quirky music in this series. :)

David Byrne does the music for this series? I may have to give it a look, then.

I've heard good things from a few friends who watch it, but can't offer any personal opinion, for I haven't seen more than a clip or two on television. I'm hoping it will fill the void left by Six Feet Under, though.

I've seen maybe two or three episodes from the first season and enjoyed it well enough. It's on my Netflix queue!

David Byrne does the soundtrack? :) Well now I really have to see the show...

Never watched it because it ruins my memories of Jeanne Tripplehorn's bare ass in Water World. I want to remember her for that moment alone.

*Hmmm....apparently that was a body double.* :(

My stepmother watches the show, I'd ask her if its good but then I'd have to, you know, speak to her.

I still haven't watched Six Feet Under. I know that I should but it just doesn't sound all that interesting. One of these days I'll get around to it and probably kick myself for not watching it sooner.

I've only seen the first season (never again noticed it being screened here in Australia :( ), but it was really great. Chloe Sevigny is one of my favourite actresses and she is absolutely wonderful in this, it was quite a shock to see her transformation! Really though, the entire cast is great and I can't recommend it enough.

Yay, definitely, but it's a slow build. Give it a few episodes--it's got some really intriguing elements/characters to it, and I think it's one of the better shows on TV right now. I've only seen the first two seasons--waiting for the third to come out on DVD! I wish HBO didn't take so long with their DVDs. :p

I'd give it a shot..you might be surprised! And you'll see some familiar faces in there as well. And I'm not telling who! :P
