Big Brother USA Season 14 - Discussion (Possible Spoilers)

It almost seems like every summer they cast somebody who is a hothead and will be removed from the game so that they can have the drama of the removal.

It's only happened a handful of times, the last one being Chima three years ago.

It's always hard to tell how much was shown and what the real situation was, especially because there were so few witnesses to it in the house. Feeds were off at the time, and all we have to go on is what the houseguests have said about it afterwards. And as we know, these houseguests love to exaggerate (just look at the "gay slur" that Willie apparently made). So who knows what happened.

Willie himself has since said that he intended to intimidate Joe/Frank when he was making those threats about getting kicked out of the house, but didn't actually want to get kicked out. Again, who knows.

Unfortunately, after the amazing first week on the feeds, the house has gotten very boring after Willie's departure. His paranoia really amped up the whole game, and now that the person going this week is a foregone conclusion, strategy isn't the top priority anymore.

^ And so much for Willie's hope to distance himself from the stigma of his family name. Didn't quite work out, did it.

The whole family seems to be like that. Was the same with that idiot nephew on Survivor. A secret? ... Yeah ...They can't keep one.

SPOILERS

So Joe and Ashley are nominated and all I'm thinking is 1) Why oh why did Janelle save Wil? and 2) Oh well, at least we'll get rid of Joe.

Wil is Janelle's fun boy. Ash is sweet but she's (apparently) a ditz. Joe's a good cook, but he's no party animal. Considering how hard they were partying last night it's no suprise to me.

So, how do you guys feel about the coaches possibly coming into the game? I personally voted no, as I really like the new dynamic that the coaches have added this season. As some of the houseguests were mentioning last night, it's like two Big Brother games going on at the same time. On the feeds it is interesting to watch, but unfortunately on the CBS episodes they seem to edit out all of the good stuff! Just watching those, it would seem like a boring season. So unfortunately I think the audience will vote yes on offering the coaches the chance to enter.

I rather like the new dynamic and think it would be a bit unfair to fold the coaches into the big game, but something tells me it most likely will happen. I have to say, I'm seeing the game from a whole different persective this year as it's the first year we've had Showtime. After Dark is only a few hours (and I can't possibly stay up for the whole thing), but oh what a difference that stuff makes. I don't know if there was some myterious announcement yesterday, but as of last night Janelle had seemed to figure out the whole "coach thing," warning Britney that a whole new game was coming next week.

So who's going this week? I have no idea.

Couldn't Shane just have nominated Ian if he wants to use his Veto and still kept Frank somewhat on his side or am I missing something? Worst case probably is Joe leaving now for Shane, that would make his HoH pretty much a catastrophe - kicking out a player everybody dislikes anyway and burning his bridges with both Janelle's and Boogie's team.

I just want to know why Joe screams during the DR segments, and why they show so much of those segments? I have to grab the remote every time he's on, so I can turn the volume down, then turn it back to normal when he's gone. He's annoying. I though Willie was the most annoying hamster this year, but Joe's giving him some major competition.

Well, at least one Coach didn't want to re-enter.

Wonder what this means for the Coach's bedroom next to the HoH room?

I would've pegged Boogie to jump for that choice, guess I was wrong. Anyway, funny how CBS pretended to even make it a choice. It was so obvious it would happen, I would question if they even had any contingencies in place for the opposite result...

He'd never do it, but it'd be funny if Boogie went all "WTF" and just packed up and said he was outta there. Speaking for myself, if I'd already won it before and didn't want to play as an individual again, I'd probably do that just to give them all the finger. "Um, Julie, I hate to tell you but there will be an eviction tonight. While these guys go play for HOH, I'm gonna pack my goodies and go home. I said I didn't want to play as an individual; I've got my money from before; my life is good; I'm tired of the drama, and I've got a life to live now. Love you guys, have fun. Cya on the other side."

Heh. Good point. It's definitely an all new game.

It was interesting seeing the House Guests still going through an endurance contest in real time, hours after the CBS show had ended. Shane seemed a little miffed that his entire week of HOH was rendered worthless.

I hate when they fuck with an HoH like that. Why skip the eviction after everything?

The conspiracy theorist in me believes they really like Frank and wanted to give him the reprieve that the house guests were not going to give him.

I'd really like to see Big Brother return to the S1 format with more fan control over things. I've been watching The Glass House and if anything, it has been proven that strategy can still happen where 100% of the control is given to the viewers.

So Janelle is evicted and I could care less. I never liked her as a character. I think the main reason she garnered so much fame was due to the lower than low ratings for the Friendship alliance in her season. Had they been more likeable instead of a mini-cult, does anyone really think her, Howie (a truly disgusting guy) and Kaysar (one of the most overrated players in the history of the game - I like him, but he has never made a jury) would be as beloved as they are.

So Frank spends another of his nine lives and is HOH. I'm seeing a Wil/Joe nomination due to all the alliances that seemed to sprout up over night.
