Big Brother Season 26 (2024) / Survivor Season 47 (2024)

My god Tucker. I thought he was annoying when he was randomly calling everyone out and winning every comp. Now he's saying how "Oh I do so much for everyone and noone appreciates me!" Now he's annoying AND entitled.

I'm only watching yesterday's episode now but please GOD let the evicted houseguest be either Tucker or Angela. Either the annoyingly dominant entitled chaos monkey or the woman with a self persecution complex who begs her way into alliances then goes on an emotional tirade about how they betrayed them at the first imagined slight. The two of them are making this season borderline unwatchable.

Angela would be first one to go home in Survivor, easily. Bad at physical challenges plus going on emotional tirades every few hours. Tucker and Quinn I think would do okay. Tucker would probably be more tolerable on Survivor cause he'd be edited differently.
I've never seen a season so split in fandom as this one.

I liked Tucker and his random energy, but he did have his moments where I cringed. I find Quinn grating and for a superfan, he sure plays a messy game. I don't enjoy his DR yelling and his belief that he is in a great position game wise. I didn't mind T'Kor before her horrible HOH reign and we were exposed to more of her.

I'd be fine with Joseph leaving, then Quinn and then I'll leave it up to the universe.

Angela is going to win, and her "acceptance/gratitude" speech will dangerously dehydrate the poor little dimwit.

I was rolling my eyes at Angela's hissy fit about Joseph. FFS, he just told her the truth, and he did it in as quiet and non-confrontational a way as it's possible to tell someone that they've done and said things that annoy the hell out of everyone else.

And then I was rolling my eyes along with Chelsie at Joseph's notion that he's some kind of genius at the game and the only reason he doesn't show it is because he doesn't want to.

It's hilarious that Leah hasn't realized that it's possible that she'll be evicted before Angela. It's kinda impossible to count on a jury vote if you're part of the jury, or don't even make it to that point.

I wasn’t able to see Wednesday and Thursday’s episode and I don’t like it enough to go watch three back episodes but I looked up what happened. Why do all the players keep conspiring to keep the most irritating player in years in the game?

I’m not sad to see the person who went go because he offered no entertainment value and did next to nothing in the game. But I just don’t get what any of the players are thinking anymore.

I liked Quinn at the start but he’s made some questionable moves, makes alliances with everyone, gets caught, is loud, repeat. But at least he understands if Angela is everyone’s #2, nobody else gets to be #2.

I hadn't even thought about the "Curse of Ainsley" until Julie pointed it out (everyone who voted against Ainsley joining the game in their first episode ended up being voted out - until last night).

I'm still rooting for Quinn. He's loud at times, but not obnoxiously so, and while his strategy gets blown up on a regular basis, he's still able to salvage himself for another week, either by making a deal or convincing the rest that someone else is a bigger threat.

I really didn't like Joseph's fake apology. "I'm sorry if" is not a real apology. Neither is "I'm sorry you feel that way." The first is refusing to admit fault. The second is blaming the target. And while I can't stand Angela, if someone thinks they need to win brownie points by apologizing to her, at least do it right.

I get the impression that Leah's a bit short on the genuine, long-lasting loyalty thing. Body language and vocal nuances do not match the words. Quinn's right - Leah will turn on Angela, probably within the next 2 weeks.

Joseph was a completely neutral presence in the game. His strategy was not to get noticed long enough to coast to the end.

But at least that's a strategy. Leah has no strategy at all.

As much as I want Angela to go this week, I'd also really like seeing Zingbot tear into her, and that's usually at 8. She'll cry for a week.

I'm not sure who I'm rooting for or who I think will win. I think Chelsea has the best game but I think too many people also see that for her to get to the end. Quinn is overplaying, but still playing well enough to have half the house protecting him. Cam is a physical threat who's never really been targeted which is impressive but basically has no game. T'Kor and Kimo have a classic game with mixed success. Mackensy has a weird game where she doesn't have any alliance but still avoids being prime target which could give her endgame clout. Rubina might actually be one of the favorites to win at this point. Her social game is solid and even though she has no other game, she's not anyone's target but everyone likes her enough to give her a vote against someone they're angry at.

Angela has a pattern. She gets verbally abusive at someone, belatedly realizes she shouldn't have done that ('cuz someone was pissed enough at her to put her on the block), tries to sweet-talk them, cries, her target pretends to commiserate and tell her everything is okay (well, Joseph didn't; about the only thing he did that I respect was politely tell her the truth), and she's fine for 5 minutes until her paranoia kicks in again, and then the whole thing starts over. Production must have a drinking game going behind the cameras.

As far as who I'd peg to win... I'm rooting for Quinn, but I'd respect a Chelsie win, too. She's playing a smart game.

Quinn's in for a rude awakening, because of the group he thinks he's in with actually not including him when they talk amongst themselves when identifying their members. The sooner T'Kor and Kimo go, the better for Quinn. They will turn on him thisfast if there's no more compelling target.

Kimo is coasting, and so is Leah (okay, so she won something, and used it just for the sake of using it, not even realizing that having Angela's jury vote does her no good if she herself ends up on the jury).

Cam is so forgettable that the first time he pops up on the screen in each episode, I wonder, "Who are you again?"

I had to laugh, though, when Angela's head was being filled with visions of being this season's Taylor, hated and abused every week, yet winning, and she's even got the same damn flavor of potato chips.

That is the fast POV competition in BB history, and...

:guffaw:

Now if they would just not use the damn Veto for once!

Julie Chen Moonves is out tonight as host of the eviction ceremony due to Covid. Jerry O'Donnell will be taking her place.

You mean Jerry O'Connell, who used to be on Sliders, and who hosted that abominably awful "Love Boat" thing a few years ago?

I liked him as Quinn Mallory. As a reality show host, he's a creep. Hopefully he won't mess this up.

Yeah. Jerry O'Connell. I don't know how I typed O'Donnell.

Step up with the times my friend!

Jerry is Star Trek Royalty.

He's been the First officer of the USS Cerritos, Commander Ransom for five years, possibly an unspecified relative of Captain Rudolf Ransom from Star Trek Voyager Equinox, who is definitely in real life married to the first officer of the USS Enterprise Mr. Spock... Wait that's not right? (Take 2!) who is definitely in real life married to the first officer of the USS Enterprise # 1, played by the overly tall Rebecca Romijn.

;) :D

I didn't know he was Ransom's voice actor, that's cool. He was mid as Big Brother host though. You think of Julie Chen as robotic, this Covid infection proves she actually is good at hosting.

Say what you will about Quinn, he's the most self aware player of all time.

The other AI is definitely Zingbot right? Mackensy called it right away and it's super obvious. Zinbgot has almost always been at 8.

All I know is that when he and Rebecca hosted the Love Boat reality show (that only I seemed to watch for the scant month it was available on a channel I could get), he was creepy (constantly making insinuating comments and weird body language/facial gestures of the physical aspects of the "dating" the couples were expected to do) and she was just plain rude. They had not one scrap of genuine charisma and didn't seem to respect the players (admittedly most of them were ridiculously miscast as drop-dead gorgeous model types who "couldn't find love").

I don't watch Star Trek anymore. I did like O'Connell in Sliders.

I haven't seen tonight's episode yet. I watch them on the Global website, and they won't be posting it until sometime after midnight (it isn't even 10 pm yet).

Well, this is what I know...

Sadly true.

So now I've got exactly nobody to root for. The only one left who I think would deserve to win is Chelsie.

As for Jerry O'Connell... yeah, still creepy. "Can I touch your hair?"

Yikes. Not that Quinn doesn't have gorgeous hair and it's probably very soft. But when you're (temporarily) hosting a game show, you do NOT ask to touch a contestant in such a personal way, putting them on the spot so they feel they have to say 'yes' even if they'd rather say 'no.'

Anyway, Survivor is starting in less than a week, so I'm going to change the thread title. Since we're all going to watch it, we might as well keep the discussion here.
