Big Brother Season 26 (2024) / Survivor Season 47 (2024)

I liked Quinn and I'm sad he's gone, but you can't say it wasn't his own fault. He made major mistakes.

Right now it's feeling like the favorites to win are the boring players like Leah and Rubina. And Angela in 2nd place because nobody will ever vote her out when they have the chance to be against her.

But hopefully someone like Chelsea, Tikor or Mackensy will make it to the end, cause the first two played excellent social games and the third was a competition badass who in the long run got herself in real alliances.

I don't get why Cam doesn't do anything. When he came into the house he seemed like the kind of player who'd be a dominating comp beast and he pretty much hasn't done anything but make some good alliances.

There's just no strong favorite this year. The biggest comp beast, Tucker, was awful at every other aspect of the game. If anyone was going to be the Jag/Matt of the year it would have been Cedric. There's not even a Michael. This season just has noone to root for, just a few people who are pretty good at the social game and all the big move players are bad at the game.

I really think this is the worst season since 15. To remind people, that is the season Andy won and also that featured like 5 capital R racists like Aaryn who made a comment to a black houseguest about pronouncing ask as axe. Just a terrible all around season whose only saving grace is the only half likable person in the house won. I have thought Big Brother really upped their casting game since then but this year is an utter failure in that regard. The first year in a long time where there hasn't been a single player who has the trifecta of being likable, being decent at the game, and not being boring.

Chelsea: Likable, decent at the game, boring.
Cam: Likable, bad at the game, boring.
Leah: Likable, bad at the game, boring.
Rubina: Semi-likable, bad at the game, boring.
Tucker: Unlikable, bad at the game, exciting.
Quinn: Likable, bad at the game, exciting.
Angela: Unlikable, bad at the game, exciting.
Mackensy: Likable, decent at the game, semi-exciting.
TKor: Likable, good at the game, boring.
Kimo: Likable, good at the game, boring.

I really think if anyone could have saved this season it would have been Cedric. But Quinn badly screwed up his HoH and that was that.

I'm not saying that Mac needs a Scarlet Letter for finding a new very very fine boyfriend, but if she was to some how find her way into the Mattrix for 24 hours, I think that should gorge him from her system.

Is everyone here planning to watch Survivor tonight?

As always, no spoilers about who was voted off in the first 24 hours, please (or use spoiler tags).

So Andy is this season’s Bhanu, I guess. Watching this live, do not know who got voted out yet. But hoping he goes, he clearly can’t emotionally handle the game.

Does anyone else think Mackensy looks just like the actress who played Bobbie in Agents of SHIELD and the first officer in Orville? It’s uncanny!

At this point I'm guessing that they don't cast anyone who's diabetic. That much sugar would send someone to the hospital, even allowing for careful monitoring and access to insulin and whatever else people take.

Survivor... it's too soon to say if there's anyone I loathe yet. I probably won't even learn their names within the first month unless they stand out for some reason.

Okay, some of that Zingbot material was just plain cruel.

And I don't want Chelsie to win anymore.

Actually, the least objectionable person left is Leah.

Right now I’m fine with Chelsea, Mackenzie or Kimo winning. They’re the only ones who played some part of the game pretty well instead of just getting dragged along.

This “Ainslee is taking over the world” thing is so stupid it kinda works.

And FINALLY Angela is gone! She goes out with a delusional takeaway of course.

I don't like Chelsie. She's grown arrogant, belligerent, and aggressive. I realize she's playing to win the money, whereas some of the other players are still fretting over whether they'll be liked. But she's become really unpleasant to watch.

Now for Survivor... I'm unclear on those 1-use idols. Are they only good for the next tribal council that person goes to, or can they choose the one time to play them? It seems like Gabe burned an idol for no reason at all, because he wasn't even remotely at risk.

I agree Chelsie has become arrogant but to this point she's objectively had the most control over the game. To this point, she is just the clear best player. The only question is if she can stop people from getting her out in the last three eliminations.

For Survivor, I'm pretty sure it's the next 1 or next 3 tribal councils the person goes to. So if Gabe hadn't used his idol, it would have been good for *his* next two tribals. He probably played it because he watched last season and got scared. None of the 5 people who went home with idols thought they were at risk.

Chelsie is set to win this game right now if Cam & Makensy don't wise up at final three. Kimo and Rubina are all but guaranteed to be the next gone. I don't think Cam can present a jury speech elegantly and Makensy really shot herself in the foot with Leah, who will get Quinn to vote however she wants.

Ugh, airing at 10:30 tonight? Finally it's not competing with Naked & Afraid and now football is preempting it.

I will watch the Summit but I expect not to like it.

Chelsie has been the strongest player so far but I'm not sure her path to the final two. I'm not sure anyone but Cam brings her and maybe not even him. And she might get spite votes against her due to her attitude.

Mackensy could easily win either HoH or Veto every week left and if she does all she has to say is "Hey look at all those AI Areanas I won!"

I think Rubina really has a shot just because she's the most nonthreatening and has a lot of friends on the jury. Kimo I think has too much target on him.

So Summit wasn’t as bad as it could have been, it’s fairly well cast, but it seems arbitrary and forced. Just make a show about a hard group physical challenge bro, no reason to have vote outs. It adds nothing.

Come to think of it, why do they still do have nots? They haven’t had a comp for it in years, it isn’t a game mechanic, it’s turned into volunteer. It never added much but now it’s just pointless.

I was under the impression that winning HoH meant that you didn't have to be a have-not, yet Angela was made a have-not (and prevented from enjoying her treats from home).

It’s kind of funny how everyone with an idol this year is overreacting to last year. Playing them immediately.

I think Angela was a have not the week after she was HoH.

So if Angela was HoH, she would have gotten her HoH goodies right away, right? But it seemed that no sooner had she won HoH, but she became a have-not for some other reason, and Brooklyn promptly stole and ate her charcuterie stuff, claiming it would spoil during the time when Angela couldn't eat it.

They should do away with the have-not crap, and just bring back the food competitions.

I think the charcuterie was *left over* from her HoH.

Totally agree they should get rid of have nots. First it was PB&J, then it was slop, then it became an entire torture week. It didn't even work the first season. If it were up to me they'd go back to having the HoH at the end of the live show and bring back a cooperative comp on Sunday, the network for some reason thinks they are boring.

It's looking more and more like it's either Chelsie or Mackensy winning. I'd be happy with either of them. The social dominant vs the comp dominant. It's crazy Mackensy was never really a target. She would have been voted out if she lost at least one of her AI Arenas but even then she was the backup target.

Of the two of them, I'd prefer Makensy to win. She doesn't have the same pugnacious, obnoxious attitude that Chelsie has.

I will say, there are two players this season who have never been at risk of elimination. Chelsie and Cam. One of those people has won competitions and convinced people to do things. The other has done nothing except convince the other to protect them.

Survivor: That was an unexpected blindside!

Now that a few episodes have been shown, I find that I like Teeny.

Rome? The sooner he falls, the better (pun totally intended). Holy crap, he's annoying.

I haven't seen Thursday's Big Brother yet.
