Big Brother 13: Dynamic Duos (Potential Spoilers)

^ He and Boogie were just one of the potential duos CBS teased us with.

I'm so glad Jeff & Jordan are back - I love 'em. As for Rachel's laugh, it is sooo annoying, yet it makes me laugh.

That sucks, I was sort-of looking forward to that.

Evel Dick and his (still) estranged daughter should be interesting (the stark-black hair an paleness doesn't work for her, BTW.)

Jeff and Jordan should be fun to watch again.

Rachel god. Does she have to talk? To laugh? God, I feel sorry for what's his name, her beau. I mean he's got a lot to put up with every. Single. Day. Of. His. LIFE! He's also obviously sub-servant and whipped.

The model chick of the new-entrants is, well, she's hot. That's all I've got on her.

Don't much like the flamboyant black guy.

The WWE-looking guy who likes watching BH90210 (?!) seems pretty cool.

The "pastor"/preacher guy seems a bit pervy given his choice of occupation.

I found it HIGH-larious the heavier-set black woman criticized Rachel for having not much more than big boobs, given that Rachel was in a relatively modest clothing and the black chick was wearing far more revealing clothing the statement struck me a bit ironic.

(I apologize for calling her the "black chick" or not using any of these new guys' names, I'm no good with names and honestly do not know them so I made a descriptor for them.)

Anyway, should be an interesting season and I even, sigh, ordered Showtime so that I could watch After Dark.

Are we already down one houseguest?

I guess Dick has been out of the house (or in the Diary Room?) for six hours. Some of the houseguests think he may have been pulled due to an outside emergency. Others think it may have to do with some kind of twist.

I hope he's not out this soon! I guess I'll find out when I check the feeds in the morning.

What's with all the bicycles in the house, are they furniture or what?

And I think Rachel is funny. Obviously she's completely unbearable in person I'm sure, but as a viewer I like her.

Unfortunately the situation doesn't seem any clearer this morning. The feeds were out for a couple of hours last night and when they came back on, there were indications that Dani has been given the golden key. They also told her that Dick leaving had nothing to do with her immediate family. Brendan and Rachel were upset about it, as Rachel feels like it is unfair and their alliance of returning players has no shot now.

By the way, are we going to continue using spoiler tags in this thread or just state them out in the open? I don't mind either way, I am just wondering what people here want. I don't want to spoil anyone, but with the live feeds it is hard to just keep your discussion to what is shown on the CBS episodes!

The thread title warns of spoilers, I don't see why we should use the spoiler tags as it just makes typing and reading the thread that much more difficult. The most I could see is doing is maybe doing "Spoiler Space" when discussing things that happen on the Feeds and on After Dark (since not everyone is likely watching that). But the code I think we can ignore again for the sake of easy reading/typing.

SPOILER

I've not yet watched After Dark but I take it, then, that Evel Dick was kicked out by the producers already? After, what, a couple weeks in the house? Wow.

This season has been really great so far on the feeds. A lot of scheming going on all the time, which usually doesn't happen until at least a couple of weeks in. The plans on who's going and whether the veto will be used are constantly changing.

I am actually liking this group a lot. Besides Brendan and Rachel, there isn't anyone I truly can't stand (yet!). It seems like a more mature and laid back group this time around that thinks strategically more than emotionally. There are one or two people who are way too paranoid for their own good though.

Jeff and Jordan are their awesome selves, as always. They get along with everyone so well.

I think that Lawon might be a fan favorite...I will just say that he has a great personality and knows how to act. I think that his diary room sessions will be funny.

Brendan and Rachel haven't changed at all. Yesterday they got in a fight and made up within 5 minutes.

Dani is way under the radar. She gets along with everyone but no one is even considering her as a threat or someone people want out.

^ Yeah, Daniele is tight with both sides of the house.

The returning houseguests (aka the "Dream Crusher" alliance ) desperately need her for the numbers.

You're right that the new contestants don't see her as a threat. Probably because her more threating half exited the house. Dominic is clearly smitten with her, so she has him kinda wrapped around her finger.

They don't seem to remember how she was the POV master of her season. But since she has the golden key, they couldn't get rid of her for the next few weeks even if they wanted to.

Lawon, like Ragan and Beau and Marcellas, will be the funny, quirky gay stereotype for a couple weeks until he goes into a deep depression or just becomes too grating. CBS gets one every year like you can buy them at Wal Mart. At the risk of sound homophobic, you can find a gay man or woman that isn't a stereotype (men being "fabulous", women having mullets)

The fact that I dislike every member of "The Regulators" alliance makes it very easy for me to give a damn about losing Keith, even though I picked him last week to win. Dominic is an asshole and Cassi is just soul-less.

If a new person has a chance, I'd like to see Shirley or Adam take it. They have been the only people to show they are more than a beautiful person.

Lawon falls on the sassier side of the scale, that's for sure. And yes, BB production has been bad about casting people that fit character archetypes. Kind of like how BB can't cast a black woman without branding her as princessy or high maintenance (ex. BB13's Kalia, BB12's Monet, BB11's Chima, etc...)

Yeah, I can't stand them.

Keith plays a terrible social game. He is literally one of the worst liars I have ever seen in this game. Just awful. When he was promising Dani he'd "totally do anything for [her]" and "never put [her] up"; she, all the live feed viewers, and anyone else with nostrils, could smell the BS he was dishing up.

Dominic is my least favorite player in the game. I wish I had a good reason to dislike him, but I don't. I just think he's obnoxious. And kinda a brat.

Cassi is pretty catty. She unfairly has it in for Porsche going so far as to call her a "f--king little c--t" - behind her back - for no apparent reason.

If a new person has a chance, I'd like to see Shirley or Adam take it. They have been the only people to show they are more than a beautiful person.

Agreed. I hope Shelly sticks around.

A lot of people seem to dislike Dominic, and I don't get it! He's not my favorite, but I "get" him. Maybe it's because I grew up in the Bay Area like he did. The way he talks and acts reminds me of so many guys I grew up with and still know. His type of humor is also pretty prevalent around there, so I think he is one of the funniest guys in the house. The way he acts in conversation is how I could see myself acting.

Jeff and Kalia just got in a verbal fight on the feeds...it was kind of crazy because Jeff got really angry really fast. Jeff, Kalia, Dani, Jordan, Rachel, Keith, and Brendan were talking about movies and books in the HOH room and brought up Harry Potter. Someone mentioned that J. K. Rowling said that Dumbledore was supposed to be gay and Jeff suddenly seemed to get upset and said, "Really? That is so perverted!" Kalia heard this and said, "Why??" Then Jeff flipped out, really raised his voice and started yelling at Kalia, telling her "Oh, you know why, don't act like you don't" and saying that it is totally wrong to have a gay teacher around children. Kalia was like, "are you really saying that gay men shouldn't be around little kids?" And Jeff just kept yelling things like, "you're just trying to be PC for television, you know exactly what I mean!" Kalia said that she wasn't being PC, that she has a sister that's gay, and Jeff said, "I don't fucking care. If you really don't understand then we're not talking about it anymore." Then awkward silence...and on to other movie talk.

The whole thing made Jeff really look like a bigoted jackass. Kalia kept her cool and tried to laugh it off. I have to give her props, I don't know if I would have been able to drop it like that. He was so obviously equating homosexuality with pedophelia. And he was so angry and vehement about it, cussing at Kalia for no reason.

I'm so disappointed. I don't think I can be a Jeff lover anymore. :(

Thanks for the heads up on that. I just finished watching the exchange on flashback.

The whole thing made Jeff really look like a bigoted jackass.

Which means the argument will never appear in a television episode. The production won't risk painting lovable Jeff in a negative light.

She did the right thing by speaking up. I wish she had pushed him further on it, but with zero backup support from the other houseguests in the room (and shame on them for that), I can understand why she thought it best to let it go.

He was so obviously equating homosexuality with pedophilia. And he was so angry and vehement about it, cussing at Kalia for no reason.

I wonder if he would have said that with Lawon in the room?

I'm so disappointed. I don't think I can be a Jeff lover anymore. :(

You know, all I can say is we don't know Jeff's life story. We don't know what events may have resulted in him taking the position he has on homosexuality.

That he exploded so quickly on this topic, makes me wonder where that anger developed from. Especially since he does seem to equate homosexuality with pedophilia.

It's not an excuse. Just something to keep in mind.

Let's just start this with the obvious: Keith is a jackass. Plain and simple. I didn't like him before and tonight just clinched it. He's worse than Brenchel and everyone knows how much I hate them. Dick might have left the house on something horrible (I haven't watched the video yet) and he's out there celebrating. Then he goes on crazy rant mode and goes after Porsche (rightly I will admit) and Kalia. The Regulators (I still hate that name) would be wise to dump him now and try to suck in another one of the Newbies. He is a ticking time bomb ready to go off and who knows who he could take down with him.

Big kudos to Jeff for realizing all is not lost in Week 1. How many times have alliances been formed in Week 1 and survived? Sure, the Brigade made it last year, but it had to cut a member in the process. In Big Brother 5, the first set of houseguests made a pact and that lasted until maybe Week 4 when Dana broke off and that fell apart. I wouldn't expect the vets to stay together long in this season either. Sooner or later, Brenchel and Jeff/Jordan will realize their biggest competition is each other.

I have a feeling tomorrow's vote will break down like so:

Adam - Keith
Dominic - Porsche
Lawon - Porsche
Kalia - Keith
Cassi - Porsche
Shelly - Keith
Jordan - Keith
Jeff - Keith
Daniele - Keith
Brendan (if he can vote) - Keith

Keith evicted 7-3. If the editing can be believed, Keith drove a lot of people nuts tonight with his antics. Even if all the Regulators vote to keep him, I think he alienated enough of the other newbies.

^ He actually handled his eviction with some class and a refreshing sense of humor - but yeah, I'm really glad he's gone.

AND JORDAN WON!!!!!!! That could not have gone better.

I love this game.

Definitely an interesting first week, usually the votes are unanimous so early in the game. The votes came out the way I expected them to, though I wasn't totally sure what Adam would do.

Keith was truly a paranoid dude, especially the past two days on the feeds. What's really funny is that he went around telling people that he was sure he would be going home because he thought that Cassie and Dominic would betray him and switch their votes. He was totally sure that Shelly would keep him though. He told people that if it came out 6-4 with him gone, then blame Cassie and Dominic. He was so wrong about everything.

It's hard for me to root for either side at the moment because they both have people I like and people I don't. I can't stand Brendan and Rachel, but I like Jeff, Jordan, and Shelly. I don't really care for Adam or Cassie, but I like Dominic and Lawon. Right now I am leaning more towards the veterans though, and I was happy to see Jordan win HOH. I kind of think she would have won even if Jeff and Brendan really tried to win it, she did pretty well.

Let's hope that the rest of the season is as interesting as this first week was. And I'm so glad to see Keith gone - he was a psycho!

Great. The two helium-voiced dunderheads, back to back.

I cannot stand Jordan's voice. I thought in their original season that Jeff must see something in her that no one else does, and has the ability to tune her voice out ... but now that he's done his little rant, I think they deserve each other. He can FOAD.

And "better stay away from my man" Rachel ... Brendan is still with his stalker? Huh. I mean, it works on that other CBS show, with Rose stalking Charlie, but this is "real life" ... How often do men stay with their helium-voiced stalkers?

Creepy, that's what it is.
