So, we've had the home release of BEYOND, and we've had a few months to reflect.


Have any opinions or rankings changed since it hit the big screen?

Not really, I still like it a hell of a lot. Obviously the action sequences lose a bit of their punch on the small screen but this is to be expected. It still really bothers me the lack of title card like the first two though. I found it distracting on first viewing at the cinema and still do now. I kept thinking where is it? Then there's that bit where the camera zooms into that computer display of the alien artefact, which would have been the perfect moment, and it just... never came.

Now watched it 4 times on Blu-ray and like it better than I originally did and enjoy it more each time. Now in 3rd place for me:
1) TWOK
2) TUC
3) Beyond
4) ST 2009

Months later I'm comfortable with my ratings. After seeing Beyond a 10th time last night and showing it to other people I feel it's a very balanced film and a very good adventure. See my review for Beyond on the reaction thread for some other reasons I placed it at #1. The newer Kelvin films are just a different level of movie-making compared to the previous films. .
