Spoilers BEYOND in your new personal film rankings?

My pix:

Star Trek II The Wrath of Khan
Beyond (yes--that high)
Star Trek III The Voyage Home
Into Darkness
The Undiscovered Country
First Contact
Nemesis
Star Trek (2009)
The Motion Picture
The Voyage Home
Generations
Insurrection
The Final Frontier

This is gonna be hard since I like a lot of them, but here goes:

The Wrath of Khan
Beyond
Into Darkness(loses points for the Enterprise not firing a shot, not enough Treknobabble surrounding Khan's genetically enhanced recuperative abilities, and not even a throwaway line about how the Transwarp Beaming Device was a Section 31 prototype)
The Voyage Home
First Contact
Star Trek
The Undiscovered Country
Nemesis
The Search for Spock
Generations
The Motion Picture
The Final Frontier
Insurrection

1. The Undiscovered Country
2. The Wrath Of Khan
3. The Voyage Home
4. Beyond
5. The Search For Spock
6. The Motion Picture
7. The Final Frontier
8. Generations
9. Star Trek 2009
10. Insurrection
11. First Contact
12. Nemesis
13. Into Darkness

I'd say TWoK, TUC, and Beyond are in essentially a three way tie. I saw Beyond 3x in the theater and I just enjoyed it more each time. I guess I like those top three for different reasons though, so it's tough to pin them down in one order. Just great films.

Hmmm...

1. Undiscovered Country
2. Wrath of Khan
3. Beyond
4. Voyage Home
5. Search for Spock
6. Star Trek 09
7. First Contact
8. Generations
9. Nemesis
10. Into Darkness
11. The Motion Picture
12. Insurrection
13. Final Frontier

Hard to say, I enjoyed it a lot but it's not in my top 5. It's definitely my favorite of my reboots and the first of them to crack the top 10. I've only seen it once and need to see it again to really decide but I'll take a stab...

1. Wrath Of Khan
2. The Undiscovered Country
3. The Voyage Home
4. First Contact
5. The Search For Spock
6. Nemesis
7. Beyond
8. The Final Frontier
9. Generations
10. Insurrection
11. The Motion Picture
12. Into Darkness
13. Star Trek

I'm not really sure about any of those after the Top 5. The Top 5 stays constant but the rest change depending on my mood. There's not a Star Trek movie I don't like though.

Poor Insurrection.
You know, I did a rewatch of the TNG and JJ films prior to the release of Beyond and as I watched Insurrection I realised I had only watched it once before, at the cinema, back in 1998. I barely remembered a thing about it, other than I recalled hating it.

Time has tempered my emotions it appears. I didn't hate it second time around, but it was awfully boring.

My listing for no-one that cares:

The Wrath of Khan - 9/10
The Voyage Home - 8/10
First Contact - 8/10
The Search for Spock - 7.5/10
The Undiscovered Country - 7.5/10
Star Trek 2009 - 7/10
The Motion Picture - 7/10
Beyond - 6/10
Generations - 6/10
Insurrection - 4/10
Into Darkness - 3/10
Nemesis - who remembers?

And I haven't watched Nemesis since I saw it in the cinema back in 2002, so perhaps my loathing of that would have tempered also

Hugo - will probably hunt down Nemesis in a DVD bargain bin somewhere for a £1 nights "entertainment"

I don't really like to rank the films, I change my mind about which ones I like the most all the time, but I'd say it was at least as good as First Contact and the better TOS movies. Certainly, of all the Kelvin timeline movies it's the one I enjoyed the most.

but it was awfully boring.
And that;'s just it,. Even Nemesis is entertaining. But, say what you will about INS being "like an episode," but STB was like an episode. The difference is STB exhibited all the good aspects of TOS were INS exhibited all the bad of TNG: it's stuffy and pretentious; it plods a long; the humor is awful, and all the sets are claustrophobic.

Yup, 3 steps forward with First Contact 6 seasons steps backwards with Insurrection

Expensive S2 episode at best. And not the one where Riker pulls of Data's arm.

Hugo - smooth as an androids bottom

The sad thing is it might have been a good film if they had actually played up the moral dilemma and made the Baku compelling, instead of Napa Valley commune hippies.

Yes. Comparisons like those always make me headdesk. Even at their worst, all Star Trek films fall well within the 80th percentile. (At least.)

In all honesty, 11 - 13 are semi-interchangeable, as I really dislike them for different reason (although I find The Final Frontier is the most watchable). Generations and Search For Spock also tend to flip around a bit (I like both).

Beyond sits at a solid seven, since the first four are my all time favorite Trek movies and five and six get slightly ahead because of the emotional connection to the original continuity. But, I liked Beyond. It was the best of the reboots and the first in it's series that reminded me why I like Star Trek in the first place.

(Slots 1 - 7 are the ones I really like, overall, 8, 9, and 10 I'm indifferent to, and 11 - 13 are the ones I really hate, if you want the spectrum breakdown.)
