I prefer Dr. Pulaski.
Seemed like a stronger character to me ,and I liked the female Bones thing.
Why did she leave anyway? (or was it her choice)
Beverly.
Warmer, more three-dimensional and interesting. Nice backstory. Better looking.

I remember seeing the way Muldaur looked in Season 2. I had the feeling that she was intentionally sabotaged with the "annie" hair and the frumpy uniform. She definately was a stunner back in TOS. I read somewhere that doing the episode where she got very aged burned her out of sci-fi. Also the backstage drama made her want to leave TNG. In regards to Dr. Pulaski, even though Crusher has the better personality and looks, Pulaksi would heve been the better doctor. She wasn't afraid of Picard because she didn't have a personal relationship prior with him. She could remain objective with the crew when objectivity would at times be a matter of life and death.Beverly.

Plus, even in her weakest makeup and outfits she was fetching. Nothing against Diana Muldaur personally...but her look just never did anything for me. She came off as a cranky aunt or mother-in-law with a medical degree.

Maybe that was her inspiration, she did appear twice in TOS as two different characters after all.And all of it based on McCoy, which is why my vote goes to Crusher.Pulaski had way more personality.
I really don't like either character, although Pulaski at least had some balls, while I found Beverly a bit passive-aggressive. I would've brought in a third doctor, frankly. It would've been interesting if they had an alien female CMO, maybe even Dr. Selar (played by the smoking hot Suzie Plakson). Would've loved to see an Andorian CMO, also. -- RR
