Damn it, Rob, you beat me to it. I think the first Bennie episode on DS9 had a cool opening, too, but Cause and Effect and In the Pale Moonlight were probably two of the most powerful. And the TOS ep The Naked Time.

Definitely one of the best. Archer running out onto the bridge to find T'Pol in command and the Earth being destroyed has off the charts "wow" factor.

IMO, none of the shows did openings better than ENT.
Cause and Effect is a great teaser of an opening scene. The only teaser that left me speechless.
The opening to The Wrath of Khan is great too.
The Expanse is a OMG type opening.
Scorpion is a great opening, the Borg giving their standard warning and boom!
Just to be able to see a small portion of the Battle of Wolf 359 in The Emissary, makes it a great opening.

That was the greatest WTF moment for me, as far as openings go.... followed closely by T'Pol's fit in "Impulse".
Twilight is a great episode, starting with that very first scene. Wow.
Have to give a shout out to the opening of TOS ep Gamesters of Triskelion, when the thralls get the drop on Chekov, Uhura, and finally, Kirk. -- RR
