Best of Both Worlds Score Change

I noticed that in the remastered version of "Best of Both Worlds," as they are on the battle bridge about to begin the saucer separation and rescue of Picard, the score has been altered slightly. The cue now begins before Riker says, "Then take your best shot, Locutus, because we are about to intervene." Previously, it started immediately after Riker finished that sentence. As a result, there is a small portion where they repeat a few bars to account for the extra time.

Anyone know why this was done?

I need to see if I can find this to compare.

It's possible it wasn't deliberate. They were having to rebuild it all basically from scratch, so it relied on then getting it exactly right. They did a great job, but errors may have crept in.

If you don't mind me semi hijacking your thread I wish I still had my DVDs as I thought in All Good Things they had no text on the screen as the Enterprise went into the distance. Blu-ray does. I'd love to compare.

If you mean the final shot, both the DVD and Blu feature Berman's on-screen credit as the Enterprise sails away. I just compared them.

As for the BOBW bit, I don't know why they extended the music cue but I can only guess it maybe has something to do with the alternate take they used on the Blu-ray?
The footage for that particular shot is very similar but definitely different, especially as when Riker and the helmsman say "Scrambler code, Riker One." their mouths are same something other than 'one' on the Blu version. (I'm not a lip-reader, so I can't tell what they are actually saying.)

There was also an alternate shot used of a Borg in engineering, so I strongly suspect it has to do with substituting for missing bits of negative. (The shot of Riker and the helsman immediately prior to the one in question is upscaled on the Blu.)

Probably to make the completists buy it twice, unless they opted for the BluRay both-options combo.
