Best Line -- Doctors Only!

All those are great, but I remember Bones' comment at the end of "Amok Time" the best.

"There's just one more thing, Mister Spock. You can't tell me that when you found out Jim was alive that you were on the verge of bringing down the house."

Spock: "Merely my relief that Starfleet had not lost a highly proficient captain."

Kirk: Very logical.

Bones: Yes, your reaction was quite logical.

Spock: Thank you, Doctor.

Bones as Kirk and Spock turn to leave. "In a pig's eye."

I too miss Bones. At least it appears his role has been given to someone who enjoys the part.

"Space is disease and danger, wrapped in silence and darkness!" I know it was quoted, but it is also my favorite.
Of course, any of Dee Kelley's, "I'm a doctor, not a _______" lines are classic Trek.

Here's a YouTube homage to McCoy, with most of his famous, "I'm a doctor, not a (fill in the blank)" sayings. :techman: -- RR
Thanks for the link, RR! It includes another of my favorite McCoy phrases... "If I jumped every time a light came on around here, I'd end up talking to myself."

TWOK is one of my favourite mvoies, and I love Bones in it. Here are a couple of my favourite lines of his from that:

"Not anymore; now we can do both at the same time! According to myth, the Earth was created in six days. Now, watch out! Here comes Genesis! We'll do it for you in six minutes!"

"Jim, I'm your doctor and I'm also your friend. Get back your command! Get it back before you turn into part of this collection, before you really do grow old."

Two of my favorites from Beverly Crusher:

"If there's nothing wrong with me... maybe there's something wrong with the universe."

"You scare me, doctor. You risk your patients' lives and justify it in the name of research. Genuine research takes time... sometimes a lifetime of painstaking, detailed work in order to get any results. Not for you, you take short cuts, right through living tissue. You put your research ahead of your patients' lives and as far as I'm concerned, that's a violation of our most sacred trust. I'm sure your work will be hailed as a stunning breakthrough. Enjoy your laurels, doctor. I'm not sure I could."

One of my favorite exchanges between Kirk & McCoy is when Kirk decides to use Regula One's space station transporter to see if they'll find Stage Two of Genesis:

BONES: Go? Where are we going?
KIRK: Where they went!
BONES: Suppose they went . . . nowhere?
KIRK: Then this'll be your big chance to get away from it all!

I was just thinking about that sequence. What a great character Bones was and is.

EMH, asking romantic advice from Paris after having been rejected by Denara Pel: "Mr Paris, I assume you have a great deal of experience with being rejected by women?"

That was one I was going to post, too. I love it--McCoy came right out of the gate fully-formed. De Kelley, rest his soul, defined the character perfectly by the end of that--his very first scene.

"What'm I, a doctor or a moon-shuttle conductor?"

Great link. :) Having just watched Devil in the Dark again tonight, I have to add one of my personal favorite McCoy quotes...

"It won't die! By golly, Jim, I'm beginning to think I can cure a rainy day!"

I just love how genuinely thrilled he is to have healed his patient. :) Ah Bones, there will never be another quite like you.

One of my favorite McCoy lines isn't humorous, and it's very old-school Trekkish philosophy.

"In this galaxy, there's a mathematical probability of three million Earth-type planets. And in all the universe, three million-million galaxies like this. And in all of that and perhaps more, only one of each of us."

"...don't destroy the one named Jim Kirk."

Great line.
I think that's my favorite line in all of Star Trek - all incarnations.

HOw about from Journey to Babel.

"I finally got the last word." - (Big McCoy smile.)

From TFF: "If I'm not careful I'll end up talking to myself."
"Sometimes you really piss me off, Jim."
"I liked him better before he died."

From TUC: After seeing Martia plant a big one on Kirk: "What is it with you?!"

Inspired by the current VOY avatar contest, this from Drive:

Doctor: "So, what program are you planning to run?"
Torres: "Something new, called Gedi Prime."
Doctor: "I've heard of that, the vacation paradise that makes Risa look like a tourist trap."
Torres: "Endless kilometres of crystalline beaches, mood reefs, bi-luminescent waterfalls-"
Doctor: "And a championship golf course, if I'm not mistaken. Why don't I just join you?"
Torres: "Somehow I don't think that would add to the mood."
Doctor: "Don't be so sure. You haven't seen me in a bathing suit."
