Best/favourite acronyms or mnemonic...

:vulcan:^I jest, but the fact that the message of that Acroynm wasn't lost, made it worth it. Thanks for that, and the insperation too. :)

E-Z Pass. This ISN'T an Acronym, it's a clever American way of saying the word Easy. I think everyone eligible should have one.
We Yanks love shortening words like that. Even our simplest Federal tax form is called the 1040EZ.

FIGMO: F--- It Got My Orders

Back in my Air Force days, when we got hard copies of orders transferring us to a new base, we would scrawl that on one copy and pin it to the door of our room.

T V's short for
Televsion but that's
Not an Acronym
No, no

N B A is
So'se the N F L
N H L
Even that wacky
Baseball League!
M L B
Rhyme with me...
i to the B that's
Bender, Bender
Bender yeah!

Hehe

OMGWTFBBQ

I got, Oh my 'gosh' what the 'fuzz' Barbecue. ^

Do a tag search on OMGWTFBBQ and you may still be able to find where it came from. ;)

As for acronyms: There are some who believe that my username is a direct result of my obsession with baseball (M.L.B.) but I am categorically stating that is not the case. I've been a member here since 2002 but my baseballholicism only started in the last four years or so.

My favorite initialism: DFTBA (Don't Forget To Be Awesome)
My favorite acronym: TARDIS (tethered aerial release developed in style)
Favorite mnemonic: I never found much use for these, honestly.

Did you make that one up yourself?

(I know TARDIS stands for Time And Relative Dimensions In Space, and I’m not even a Dr. Who fan.)

^it was used in 'The Next Doctor', a episode in which a human guy got confused and thought he was the Doctor. his 'TARDIS' was a hot air balloon.

TWBFR

a favourite from my youth

Roughly translated, it means "no, that's not going to happen"
Now I'm curious - what do the initials actually stand for?

But doing a tag search wouldn't tell you that unless it had originated on this board, and even then only if within the last three years.

Air between clouds doesn't ever form good habitable infostructure. Just keen looking might now open positive quante results says the under vauled wise xtranormal young zebra.

Most of the initialisms, acronyms and mnemonics I learned at university are sadly unsuitable for a family audience.

My memories of Glasgow University rhyming slang consist of things like commiserating with graduates who got a Bishop Desmond.

I'm surprised nobody's mentioned the programmer/tech support person's perennial favourite: PEBKAC (Problem Exists Between Keyboard And Chair).
