Best/favourite acronyms or mnemonic...

As a random side-note: Removing Pluto from the list of planets totally screwed up the German mnemonic for remembering the planet order and that makes me a very sad panda.

Before Germany adopted international corporate Business lingo companies used the first pronounceable letters of their business name to paint on their trucks.
Using english names for explanation here is an example.
Company name Global Trade Transport = Glotratra
Some were really funny....

Never heard that one, and I can’t say it even makes much sense. But then, neither does “Fornication Under Control of the King.” Fornication, by definition, is illicit sex. Therefore, it isn’t under the control of any authority, royal or otherwise!

Urban legend, nothing more.
A fact I’m well aware of. It’s a folk etymology, like the one about “posh” being an acronym for “Port Outward, Starboard Home,” supposedly because wealthy passengers booked cabins on one side of the boat for the voyage out (to India?) and on the other side for the return trip, because of prevailing winds or something.

Actually, the word “posh” is of English Gypsy origin, and originally meant money or a small coin, IIRC.

The Klingon word HoD (captain) is easier to retain if you think of it as the same as the English acronym HoD (Head of Department).

I just take it for granted that the F word is an acronym we adopted for loving and insulting.

I never needed that, I just remembered the word "PEM-DAS"

E-Z Pass. This ISN'T an Acronym, it's a clever American way of saying the word Easy. I think everyone eligible should have one.
