Best Episodes To Prime My Wife for the Star Trek Cruise

Hi all, so I am getting ready to attend the Star Trek Cruise next month. My wife will be joining me, and while she enjoys Star Trek, she's not a big nerd about it like me. So she was thinking we'd watch some episodes to get her primed for the cruise, and I was wondering:
What episodes do you guys think are the best choice for this?
I'm open to all sugestions.

Those focusing on the actors that are on board

That was my thought, too, but I'm wondering which ones.
We've got: William Shatner, Brent Spiner, Jonathan Frakes, Marina Sirtis, Denise Crosby, Robert O'Reilly, JOhn DeLancie, Terry Farrell, Nana Visitor, rmin Shimmerman, Max Grodenchik, Chase Masterson, Casey Biggs, Cirroc Lofton, Jeffrey Combs, Nicole DeBoer, Andrew Robinson, Robert Picardo, Garret Wang, Ethan Phillips, John BIllingsley, Connor Trinneer, Vaughn Armstrong, Doug Jones, Sarah Mitich, Michelle Hurd, Jess Bush, and Tawny Newsome. Phew.

I've always wondered about those cruises. Let us know how it goes.

City on the Edge of Forever - TOS
Best of Both Worlds I and II - TNG
The Visitor - DS9
The Year of Hell I and II - VOY
Carbon Creek - ENT

Hard to choose for DSC, since it's so heavily serialized.

I hope you guys have a great time! Please let us know how it is... my wife and I were looking into it, but there were too many factors that prevented us from going.

I am jealous that you'll get to meet two people I have yet to meet that are on my 'must, must meet' list... Andrew J. Robinson and Jeffrey Combs.

"Magic to Make the Sanest Man Go Mad" for DSC. It gets the job done for his purposes.

That was my first thought, even though it's Mudd's second appearance in DSC.
I don't think you need to see "Choose Your Pain" to understand "Magic to Make the Sanest Man Go Mad". It's as simple as this: Mudd is someone Lorca ran into before and Lorca can't stand him. Done! Plus, you get to see Tilly, the Discovery, and Lorca. The actor who played Airiam, Sarah Mitch, is in there. And they have a party! It's the one to go with.

Screw it. Here's my list:

TOS - "The City on the Edge for Forever"
TNG - "Cause and Effect"
DS9 - "The House of Quark"
VOY - "Counterpoint"
ENT - "Fight or Flight"
DSC - "Magic to Make the Sanest Man Go Mad"
SNW - "Ghosts of Illyria"

It's impossible to show a self-contained episode of PIC. My best stab at it is "Remembrance".

It’s been a while since I watched a lot of TNG and even longer since I watched TOS. I haven’t watched anything on air now except the animated series. I didn’t watch much DS9 either and as that’s a fair chunk of the guests, I feel very unhelpful. (No implied criticism of any of those unwatched series, in general, I try to avoid plots dealing with war and conflicts because they upset me, personally.) However, I am an auxiliary Star Trek fan so I’ll toss my two cents in on a few episodes to watch showcasing the guests on the cruise.

Enterprise: The foremost episode showcasing John BIllingsley and Connor Trinneer would be “Similitude” (Season 3, Episode 10) but it is so so so sad. I’m not sure if that’s ideal in this situation. A much more lighthearted episode could be “Unexpected” (Season 1, Episode 5). (That is if you overlook the “unknowingly/unwillingly pregnant” being played for laughs aspect of it, YMMV.)

Voyager: For Robert Picardo, my personal favorite would be “Message in a Bottle” (Season 4, Episode 14). For Garret Wang, I feel like “Timeless” (Season 5, Episode 6) is widely regarded to be a strong one for him. It’s a little angsty for my personal taste but all Harry’s standout episodes tend toward angst it seems… “The Killing Game” (Season 4, Episodes 18 & 19) shows Harry playing a vital role and has enough amazing vintage costumes to distract me from the fighting :). I’m most partial though to something like Bride of Chaotica!” (Season 5, Episode 12) where Harry is a featured character but admittedly not fore-fronted, because it’s such a fun episode! For Ethan Phillips? Neelix gets fore-fronted for several of the fluffier episodes but despite what you might think from this ramble, those aren’t always my favorites. Then there are deeper episodes he stars in like “Mortal Coil” (Season 4, Episode 12) which is sad enough on its own to repel me but I also don’t like the idea that we need to torture the comic relief to make them more complex. I guess I’d go with “Riddles” (Season 6, Episode 6). Neelix plays a vital role and we get to see depths without too much sorrow.

Lower Decks: The last two episodes of Season Three "Trusted Sources" and "The Stars at Night" show who Mariner really is beautifully. They totally spoil earlier seasons but they’re a nice slice of the show.

I don’t think everyone is as sensitive as I am so take these as merely personal recommendations and not “Wives of Trek fans only want candy-coated fripperies,” please.

TOS - The Trouble with Tribbles
TNG - Measure of a Man
DS9 - A Call to Arms
VOY - Scorpion pt1/2
ENT - First Flight
Disco - Magic to Make the Sanest…
PIC - Nepenthe
LD - An Embarrassment of Dooplers
PRO - Preludes
SNW - All Those Who Wander

Are you gonna talk to, get pics, get autographs of all of them?

Autographs of the ones I haven't met yet.
A photo with Chase Masterson, to commemorate when I met her like 20 years ago and she took a pic with me while having lunch.
And I'm going to have Andrew Robinson and William Shatner sign some books (Because I am a book nerd as well, lol)

Then why not start with Leeta, Garak, Kirk episodes :D
Other than that, I'd suggest episodes that fit genres she likes. Funny, dark, aliens, time travel, action, philosophical, romantic, allegorical, etc.
Some people don't like half of these and love the rest, so base your episode selection on that.

Definitely gonna start with Garak, and he's a favorite of hers.
